“An escape in a gorgeous setting.”
+The setting is incredible and to have evenings under candlelight playing board and card games as a family was special. The boys loved stoking the hot tub and getting the logs for the fire. Despite it being October the lodge was warm at night and the hot water bottles were a lovely touch.
−We needed to add new batteries to the fairy lights inside and out and it would be helpful to have a decent lamp or two for the kitchen and bathroom. We did find some better ones at the bivouac residents lounge on the second night but it would have been nice to have been given those to start with. It would also be helpful to have some form or rack to dry towels to put by the fire in the winter.

−Our gas stove only had one ring that worked. They tried fixing it when reported but he couldn’t fix it

“Great 2-night stay with girls”
+Clean, comfortable, warm, everything included. Little things that really make the stay lovely including gift box, candles, unlimited wood for fire pit. Thanks Swinton!
−The signage to the tree house wasn’t very clear. Especially when you are driving in the dark. We got lost. The main gate said Authorized Vehicles Only so wasn’t sure if we can enter.

“Fantastic tree lodge, great stay”
+Very peaceful, rustic tree lodge but cosy, warm and comfortable with everything you need for a great stay. Lovely little touches like tea, coffee, s’more’s pack, toiletries, rechargeabke lights etc, everything has been well thought through and well designed. So good having own toilet and shower with hot water. Hot tub and sauna were great. Lovely location, good cafe and lots of walks on the estate.
−Nothing we loved everything! but…some people might struggle with the ladder to top bunk (tricky to get down in the dark) and low ceiling height of other bunks (watch your head!). The cabin is a bit smaller than it looks on the pictures but plenty big enough for 4 of us.

“What a special place”
+This is a really special place. The immediate woodland and moorland are beautiful and so close to explore. The accommodation is quirky and pretty much off grid so felt like a real break away. The bedding is super comfy and the supplied soap smells gorgeous, the perks of being linked to a high end hotel!
−We had an issue with the hot tub which wasn't properly working. The staff were really helpful about it and while it couldn't be fixed they compensated us. The only other thing is the sleeping sections are low so manoeuvres are tricky, but not dissimilar to when camping but 100 times more comfortable when you get there!
