“Cozy homestay with perfect location”
+The location was exclusive and the owners were super friendly and helpful. We went snorkeling right in front of the property and saw turtles each time.
−The A/C didn’t work great but a fan was provided so not a big issue.

“Straight off the beach!!!”
+So love this location!!! Right on the beach and a quick 10 metre swim straight onto the coral and thousands of tropical fish. From my bed I can see the sea too! And the shower was a good temperature, as hot or cold as you liked. The location is excellent too, between the japenese Shipwreck (7km) and the USS Liberty shipwreck at Tumbelan. Scooters can be hired nearby for 70K/d plus petrol.
−The AC needs a little work, at best only took may 2C off the room temp. Underpowered and the doors don't seal well. But good for the price.

“Lovely views”
+Lovely room with a balcony right on the sea front, can snorkel straight off the beach or take a boat trip with Nyoman. We were also able to rent a scooter and got laundry done super fast. The restaurant does great food too.
−It's an older building so there can be insect visitors, especially in the bathroom.

+Position is awesome... overlooking the beach, close to snorkelling spots and warungs. Snorkelling trip with Nyoman was great. The price was fantastic.
−Pillows maybe a bit big... but that's being picky.

“Amazing people, beautiful view, wonderful experience”
+The people from Sunrise cafe are very friendly, very kind, very helpful. I don't drive and the owner was always happy to help me and to bring me anywhere. They made me feel very welcome and that made all the difference in my experience. They have very sweet dogs who also made me feel extra welcome and so happy to come 'home'. The view is amazing! You can literally see the sun rise from your bed. The location is very nice, it's right next to a very nice warung and a freediveschool.

“Choice for Amed”
+Amazing location at the beautiful jemeluk bay, amazing ocean sunrise view and best snorkeling spot in Amed (imo) in front of the door. Lovely staff that make delicious food. Some rooms have better working ACs than others and sometimes the bathroom can have some odeur. My place to be when I come to Amed, fully recommend.

“Fantastic value for basic accommodation with wonderful hosts”
+I believe Sunrise only has three rooms, and we booked all three. Every room has a lovely view over the ocean and bay, with the most amazing sunrise! The rooms are basic, with a bed, private bathroom and air conditioning. The bathrooms are a little dated, but for the price, I honestly have no complaints. The family were all so helpful and were lovely hosts. Sadly, there was a big swell and the sea was very rough during our stay, so we weren’t able to do the snorkelling tour we had hoped for. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have hesitated to go out with Nyoman. We also had all our washing done while we were there. It was a good price and ready very quickly. When we were paying at the end of our stay, I accidentally left my camera on the desk. They called me as soon as they realised to let me know, which I really appreciated. If you’re happy with basic accommodation and great service, I would 100% recommend Sunrise. We would definitely stay here again!

“Beautiful view in a simple room and the cutest pups”
+The best sunrise in the morning The puppies Most tastiest banana pancakes I’ve ever had Hot showers Great location. We often walked to the other side of the bay as it has sun loungers which are free to use and calmer water to snorkel but it’s not far to get to. I didn’t realise how walkable everything was here - easy to get into the town or up to sunset view although we did hire a scooter from a place a few days down to get around for a few days
−I missed having a lamp and a kettle - although I did ask for hot water a few evenings and was no problem for them Doors are hard to lock but it’s in a homestay and does feel really safe

“A wonderful home stay!”
+We loved staying at Sunrise Cafe, the view was beautiful, the beds were comfortable and had a big mozzie net, Nyoman was a fantastic host and his family cooked us so much amazing food. They had lovely pets and many many wonderful bonsai trees. We did the fishing and snorkelling trip with Nyoman, it was great value for money and we saw lots of fish, coral, turtles, rays and even a baby white tip reef shark. Sunrise wasn’t a fancy place but an authentic home stay that made us feel welcome and at home in Amed.
