“Very disappointing and greatly overpriced.”
+Location good with ample bars and restaurants nearby.
−The primary reason for choosing this hotel was the pool and the sunbeds around it, and for that we were willing to pay the inflated price. We arrived at hotel to see a sign on reception stating that pool was closed for maintenance. This wasn't brought to our attention by the staff when we arrived for check-in. It was in fact not just maintenance but a full remake. No prior notification had been provided despite being in correspondence with hotel a few days earlier to state time of arrival. Reception staff said that they had informed Booking.com of the closure but we could find no evidence of that either from the hotel or via Booking.com themselves. They said that it had only happened 5 days before our arrival but the state of the pool suggested that the work had been on-going for quite some time. Alternative arrangements had been made with the Gateway Hotel, 2kms distance, to make use of their pool and that transport would be available. (We did take up this offer twice during our 8 night stay but wasn't really suitable for our needs.) “Very disappointed as it should have been a relaxing 24hrs but it wasn’t. However the location was stunning.”
+The pool was lovely and the reception staff were helpful
−The fact we were not told prior to our stay there was major construction work taking place right opposite our room and by the pool the noise on the Monday morning was unbearable . The photos of the property are way out of date. The breakfast was poor, the temperature of the food was luke warm at best and the breakfast staff were not helpful.
