10.0+Loved the location, the property was very well designed to take advantage of the scenery. The room was spacious and very well appointed, and the communal spaces were fantastic. The included self-serve breakfast hit the spot. Would highly recommend a stay here. An added bonus was short walk to the Plough and Feather. Great food and atmosphere for families or couples. Our only issue was we only booked one night!

10.0“The best stay!”
+We loved everything about this gorgeous place - firstly the view - it was just breathtaking. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had the best time. The room, the bed, the facilities - everything was just perfect! Thank you Richard and the team!

9.0+We loved the location and quiet surroundings. The breakfast set up and supplies were very substantial and delicious thank you 🙏
−Unfortunately the sheets of the bed I slept in had a number of human hairs from someone else. I was a bit concerned that the sheets had been previously slept in. Once I removed the hairs it was ok.

10.0“Wish we could have stayed longer”
+Stone Store Lodge was a little piece of heaven set into a beautiful forest, but with the convenience of the Plough & Feather pub and The Stone Store (New Zealand’s oldest building) only a 10min walk away. It’s also very close to the beautiful rainbow falls and the township of Kerikeri itself. The shared space is large (we were fortunate to have the whole space to ourselves) and the fridge was stocked with provisions for breakfast.

9.0“Enjoyed the environment and hospitality offerred”
+The self serve breakfast was more than adequate and the location/environment excellent
−Suggest a grabrail in the shower -I have found that shower floors can be very slippery in most establishments.

8.0“A lovely location which we would recommend. Some nice touches and welcoming host.”
+Location was excellent - a very tranquil setting and close to everything, airport, shops and tourist destinatlons. Breakfast facilities were very good with everything we needed provided for a 'healthy start' to the day. Did have to ask for low fat milk, but that was provided prompty on request. Loved the sitting room area, with log fire - very cosy and comfortable. Met some very nice fellow travellers to share a wine with, which was a bonus!
−I did find the best too soft for my liking, not great support. Need it as we get older! Also bedding, whilst clean, could have been better quality - and probably pressed!

9.0+Great position and setting, comfortable light filled room with high ceilings, good guest facilities and fabulous muesli made by the host, Richard. It was a bonus meeting Richard on arrival as he set the scene of a warm comfortable place to stay.
−Photo of the room didn't do it justice.

1.0“Dirty with uncomfortable beds.”
+Fly screens installed in the bedroom and bathroom and the view from the balcony
−The beds were two beds pushed together with no topper so there was a gap in the middle. The communal kitchen needs a thorough clean and really the rest of the building. Cobwebs, sticky door handles and a clump of hair on the floor in our bathroom. The breakfast was below par with minimal choice, the bananas in the fruit bowl were literally black. Showering in the morning at 9:30am and the hot water ran out. Definitely not up to “luxury” standards.
