“Great economic option to stay near Chicago center”
+Honestly a good option to stay near the center of the city, the price was amazing compared to any other, it’s 9 minutes away from the CTA blue line so you can move everywhere without problems, the facilities were good, I think they were in process of renovation so a little dust was present, but the kitchen, rooms and bathrooms were really nice
−The property doesn’t have room heating so at night gets reallyyyyy cold, and doesn’t have extra blankets

“Great Location in Safe Neighborhood”
+Amelio went out of his way to support me during my stay and cater to all my needs, including carrying my luggage up to the third floor, giving me a band-aid after I took a fall during a walk. He also got me decaf coffee and gave me valuable information how to get around, where to eat and shop during my 4-day stay for the 2026 Chicago Marathon. Amelio made my stay at Stay 424 Hostel very personable. Traveling as a woman by myself, he made me feel welcome and safe.
−Two things: 1. I stayed in a private room with shared bathroom (room E in 3 F). All the windows to the street were blinded with advertising for the youth hostel on the outside facing the street. That required lights to be turned on any time of the day with no view to the outside. Made me feel a bit depressed, since I like natural light in the rooms I stay and live. 2. The shower was not strong. Very little water came out. Therefore I had to spent a lot more time in the shower to fully clean myself, - especially after the marathon. At one time the water flow stopped completely and I had to leave the shower room to call for help, which btw came quickly! Both issues should be addressed by the administration and thus would make everyone's stay a lot more convenient.

“Beyond grateful that the staff helped me in a crisis, my first night back in Chicago”
+The foyer. With music games and food for entertainment ; it was a vibe I’m use to in Chicago . You didn’t disappoint
−Those steps leading into the dormitory . I’ve never been in a hostel and it was shocking the number of steps you had to go through. Fortunately, the owner’s ( manager) was ready to help me. I’m disabled and I was tired not able to wash decently; a bit taxed. So I was in a mood, lol

+not far from the subway, the area is also good, wi-fi is nice, pool downstairs was the best part in this hostel
−no AC, only very noizy fan, no window, thw room is super small and not good cleaned (dust on the shelves). the locker is not safe - it broke on the second day, so a random guy told us a master-pass for all the rooms -> some people (not stuff) know the code from your room. also no locker, we had to take all the documents and money with us. the dishes in the kitchen was dirty. also there were restauration works there - you must go through the 16-beds room to reach yours (they didn't even mention it on booking). not enough bathrooms.

“The volunteer staff made this feel like home”
+The staff is who made our stay. Emilio, Syd and CJ were so wonderful to us. Showed us around the neighborhood, recommended attractions, always made sure we were comfortable and had plenty of things to do.
−The construction was loud, but that's out of their control. There was a large flood that took place a few weeks before we arrived. That being said, I'm excited to come back next year to see the place after all the renovations have been completed!

−オーナーの方がかなり失礼です。 荷物がベッドに置いてあるにも関わらずチェックアウト前にベッドカバーを外したりします。 またイヤホンを使用せずに音楽を聴いていた人を注意して口論になった末に客を追い出していました。 寝ている人がいない状況で注意するべきだったかは疑問です。 返金があったかは不明です。 頻繁に部屋を見回って小さなことでも注意してきます。 アクセスも良いわけではないので値段が安い以外で泊まる理由はないです。 中心部のHIホステルか球場近くのWRIGLAYホステルがオススメです。

“Pésima experiencia”

−Por favor no reserves este alojamiento si estas viajando sola. En toda mi experiencia en hostales es la primera vez que no siento el vibe de hostal. No hay personal presente a ninguna hora del dia, es self check in, una de las noches unos huéspedes estaban peleando a altas horas de la noche en el cuarto mixto y estuvieron haciendo ruido toda la noche, no me hizo sentir segura y cuando finalmente pude dormir otro huésped encendió la luz. Cuando estaba usando uno de los baños comunes (antes de las 10 pm y respetando el tiempo máximo de 15 min) una persona estuvo intentando abrir la puerta en mas de una ocasión, lo que fue incomodo. Es demasiado caro para lo que ofrece, la cama de la litera de arriba ni siquiera tiene cortina de privacidad, la cocina no está bien equipada y casi no hay espacios comunes. Solo hay un baño con una sola regadera que estan en el mismo espacio en el cuarto mixto de 12 camas, lo cual, otra vez, se me hace muy poco para lo que cobran y la ubicacion. No hay una buena relación calidad-precio

−Durante la noche no había nadie a cargo del alojamiento. En dos noches distintas intentaron ingresar a mi habitación, pese a que la puerta contaba con una clave de acceso. La primera vez no le di demasiada importancia, pero la segunda tuve que colocar una silla para trabar la puerta. Como no tenía a quién recurrir en ese momento, grité y la persona se fue. Además, en ocasiones la puerta de entrada desde la calle quedaba abierta durante la noche. La habitación tampoco tenía televisor, aunque la publicación indicaba que sí. Envié cuatro correos electrónicos informando los intentos de ingreso y solicitando que revisaran las cámaras de seguridad para esclarecer lo sucedido. No recibí respuesta a ninguno de ellos. Esta falta de atención ante una situación de seguridad me hizo sentir desprotegido durante mi estadía.

−Mi cama en altura no tenia escalera propia, habia una escalera movible que se iba compartiendo. Un solo baño en la habitacion compartida de 12, que incluia la ducha, no había unicamente lavabos para utilizar rapidamente. Un baño en el pasillo extra. Los espacios comunes nulos. Pocos enchufes, si te toca la cama de arriba no tenias ninguno cercano.
