“Views for days in Ella”
+We ended up staying in the deluxe room for an additional fee as it was available. I strongly recommend booking this one over the other smaller room, as it is much more spacious and the view on the hills is incredible. The location is fantastic: right outside of town so it's quiet, but walkable distance to the centre. The staff was super friendly and helpful with our requests. The breakfast was amazing.
−The wifi wasn't too good. Could have used A/C in the room.

“Very disappointed, avoid booking the small room.”
+The couple who ran the homestay were friendly when we saw them, they also had one cute dog (and one we'll mention later). There is a mini fridge and kettle. They allowed us to use the kitchen in the main house at our request to make snacks.
−Overall we were really unimpressed and actually quite disappointed by the stay. While the room was decorated nicely, it is in serious need of some updating. The doors and windows leading out had been warped by the weather, and had multiple missing latches. Because of this, when it was warm or rainy, the windows would fill with condensation and leave a damp smell. You couldn't really have the curtains open often as the staff or other guests would frequently walk past. This led to the room feeling a bit dark and dingy. It is also incredibly small, the smallest place we've stayed in over 3 weeks in Sri Lanka, our two large backpacks couldn't comfortably fit and there was nowhere to unpack or get ready. The bathroom door was cracked and in need of updating. The toilet and other fixings were loose and would move when being used. Water wouldn't evaporate or drain properly after showers and there was no squeegee offered which certainly did not help the damp issue. The hot water was very inconsistent, we usually had to turn it on and off 3 times to work, but pressure was ok. The window in the bathroom also did not close properly and the latch was broken. “The best views in Ella in a comfy and modern room.”
+The room was very comfortable and modern and we had a private terrace with the most stunning views of the valley. Our host was very nice and they were able to adapt the breakfast gluten free. The location is great as you can walk to Ella's main street easily but you are surrounded by nature. Overall a perfect experience!

“Amazing location, even cooler Host!”
+We loved the host, she was amazing from start to finish, went above and beyond just being a host! The location was unbelievable, best place I have ever stayed in Sri Lanka and the host was so knowledgeable and gave us lots of plans/ideas to do on our trip!

+- die Gastgeber waren super herzliche und liebe Menschen - modern eingerichtetes Zimmer mit liebe zum detail - unglaubliche Aussicht von der Dachterrasse sowie der Küche - leckeres Frühstück mit Smoothies - die Hunde shaggy und Goldie

“Ruhige Lage im Grünen”
+Sehr tolle Aussicht aus dem Zimmer. Es war auch geräumig. Die Location war super schön und ruhig. Das Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich.
−um ins Zentrum zu kommen musste man entweder 10 Minuten laufen (kein Problem) oder ein TukTuk nehmen (eher ein Problem, da kein Pick Me dorthin gefahren ist). Die Besitzerin hatte jedoch 2 Nummern, denen man schreiben konnte und dann wurde man doch abgeholt. Das Bad war an einigen Stellen schon ein bisschen abgenutzt.
