10.0“Highly recommended”
+Charming B&B situated in a quiet location and set in its own attractive garden. Warm welcome from owner. Lovely, well-equipped room with very comfy bed and powerful shower. Tasty breakfast cooked by friendly Karen set me up for my first day on the Cumbrian Way. I'd certainly stay here again!

8.0“Lovely old house in a quiet location close to Hoad hill and an easy short walk to the centre of Ulverston & the Cumb”
+Excellent location, a short walk from Ulverston station & centre, as well as being very close to Hoad Hill. Great breakfast including fresh fruit and cooked options
−Somewhat hard to find in the dark without clear signs but this wasn’t a problem

8.0“Lovely host, great breakfast, good facilities, comfortable bed.”
+Our host was very friendly and welcoming. The room and bathroom was a good size with an excellent kitchen and the use of a comfortable lounge. The breakfast was really excellent, lots of choice and very well presented. Very quiet location. Short walk into the town and very close to a hill top walk.
−The toilet seat was very loose. Some other fixtures needed some attention. The corner edge of the tiles as you exited the bathroom were broken and sharp. When addressed it will be an exceptional place.

9.0“A comfortable stay in an interesting old property.”
+Very characterful house with lovely view over the estuary. I was in the converted stables which had their own comfortable lounge and large kitchen, ideal if you wanted to eat a takeaway dinner or make a drink. The house and the stables were filled with art and interesting old pieces of furniture. Very good breakfast provided.
−The en-suite bathroom was unheated and lacked towel hooks or a radiator. The bedroom lights were inconveniently positioned.

7.0+Good freshly cooked breakfast to order. Helpful and prompt responses from the housekeeper when we asked. We had an ensuite bathroom and a small living area attached to our attic bedroom and we appreciated the extra space.
−It was not made clear in the description of the hotel that our room might be in the attic up a steep flight of steps (there are two rooms on the first floor and two on the second floor). The doors into our room and then into the ensuite bathroom were narrow and very low (we had to stoop). The second floor rooms would probably not be suitable for a person with poor mobility and this should be included in the hotel description. The lighting in our sitting room was poor and insufficient to read by after dark, an additional free-standing light was provided when we asked.
