“On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, I give my stay an 8.”
+I was a bit concerned about driving between Sparta and West Salem because I didn't know how long it would take based on my research, but the drive to the wedding venue was not horrible. What I did like about the hotel was that it was right on the corner. The owner of the property, or who I assume was him, was very kind and personable. Despite how things looked on the outside, it served its purpose; it was not the Ritz-Carlton by any means, but it was a good place, and if I were traveling through the area again and just needed a quick place to crash, I would use it.
−The pictures were not exactly as advertised, but it was clean and served its purpose; the only issue was that there was no continental breakfast.

−One of the two windows in our room had blinds but not a curtain. The blinds weren't perfectly private (we checked from outside). Also, there were people smoking outside their rooms, around the corner from ours. It was a strip motel with private entrances to each room. The smell didn't enter our room but it impacted how safe I felt walking to my car. Also, no fault of the property--the train came late at night multiple times and was quite loud.

+Our room was clean and comfortable, very reasonably priced. The staff was exceptionally attentive, making sure our stay was pleasant. The location, ideal, within driving distance to 4 area bicycle trails. We definitely would stay here again.

−The building, which was advertised as 8.5 stars looked like it should have been condemned from the outside. The room was clean, but the television - which I don't need much of - did not work. It was a place that seemed as though people who wanted to stay anonymous would go. I was not asked for identification, and asked whether I wanted to pay cash.

“Good value for money”
+Room was clean, bed was comfortable, location was convenient.
−Parking lot is small, has weird corners, and is roughly paved. One window in my room only had blinds and let in enough light to make it difficult to sleep.
