“I would definitely stay there again.”
+The property was in an excellent location. A twenty minute walk to anywhere around the resort. The staff were excellent.
−The room I was in never got cool. The temperature never dropped below 80. I was able to get another room and the AC worked perfect.

“A wonderful restaurant with sunset views”
+This review is just for El Tejaban restaurant at Solmar. We were staying at Grand Solmar, and were so pleased to find El Tejaban. We really liked the menu, and the restaurant was so nice - open doors to the ocean and sunset views, lovely vibe, and wonderful service from the team. They were so kind with our limited Spanish. Reyna was so warm and wonderful, and our food was so good, that we cancelled reservations at a different restaurant and went back again the next evening so we could sit at her table. And that was so delicious that we came back the next day for breakfast. Everything was plated beautifully, and very tasty. We were able to charge our meals to our room in Grand Solmar or pay with a card.

“Solmar Resort is Primo location! Go with the whale watching package and thanks for the memories!”
+My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Solmar Resort and had a wonderful time. Although the room was a bit outdated, I know they intend to eventually put their money back into renovations over time since its primo location. Its only a 10-15 minute walk to the marina and was safe enough for my wife and I to do at night. The restaurants had tasty food. Shoutout to Arturo & Jose Luis at Tejaban who were amazing servers and worked with us practicing our español! They were true gentlemen and fun guys. Also, shoutout to Gerrardo along with the rest of the pool waiters / bartenders. They worked their butt's off making sure everyone had there drinks/food. Thank you guys! The live music was great at Tejeban too which we danced to along with other vacationers having fun. When booking, we went with the Whale watching package (Shoutout to Jerry, our boat guide, who was awesome! Also, heads up, there is no bathroom on the boat but its got a dual engine hemi to make up for it so you will definitely cruise fast and get to more locations where the whales are). “Another Best Ever Vacation”
+We have been to Solmar Resort 15 times, and each time it is the best vacation ever. Solmar Resort is the oldest resort on the Pacific side of Cabo, since it is on the Pacific side the ocean is too dangerous for swimming, but Medano Beach is close by. The resort reminds us of old Mexico it is not the glitz and glamour of the other Cabo mega resorts. It is old, small, quiet and very intimate. A fifteen-minute walk will get you to the hustle and bustle of the marina with its many restaurants and night clubs. The beach is private so no vendors. The Resort is beautifully maintained and very clean. The Staff is the same year after year, all very professional, friendly, attentive and ready to go the extra mile to make your vacation special. Choose All Inclusive and sit back and relax; no shopping, no cooking and no dirty dishes; couple that with an excellent, attentive and very friendly staff, and it is a true vacation. “Very pleasant and convenient introduction to the Cabo vacation ecosystem.”
+We used the "all inclusive" option for the first two days of our stay. Since we weren't familiar with the area we were able to take advantage of the resort for meals and drinks until we did our exploring and then took most of our meals and entertainment down in the town (which is just 10 minutes away by foot or car).
−Note that this property is on the Pacific side of 'lands end' and swimming in the ocean is not permitted. I believe they mention this in their property description. The beach is great for a beautiful hike in both directions. Of course they have two pools on the property. The swim friendly beaches on the bay side are just 15 minutes away by car. Note that Uber has very good coverage in this area.

“Solmar SJD BEWARE greedy/predatory”
+Predatory time share behavior. In light of the February unrest in Mexico & a friends medical condition (name not on the reservation) the management was aggressive and rude and unbending when a cancellation for a reservation 72 hours out was requested. The hotel management demanded HIPA protected medical records in order to refund the reservation. All of this occurred 1 week after the military/cartel clash in Mexico. No amends were given. Typical greedy timeshare property, dishonest, rude & predatory. I didn't have the opportunity to stay here, but with the attitude of management & interactions with reservations and aggressive rude employees, I certainly won't miss it. Shame, as it looks lovely. Just goes to show how far customer service and satisfaction can take you. I work in the travel aviation industry & will wholeheartedly tell all of my customers about this experience. Train your people, show some grace & be kind Solmar SJD.

“Amazing location, large, comfy rooms”
+The location is amazing. The resort is beautiful, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The pool and hot tub area is great with the swim up bar, and food service.
−They will offer you a free sunset dinner cruise, etc..then try very hard to get you to invest in a time share type vacation plan in the new phase called Grand Solmar. It's gorgeous, but the high pressure sales attack takes away from the relaxation factor.

+Nos gustó nuestra habitación, cama muy cómoda, espacios amplios, tenía cocineta y comedor, parrilla y minibar. El último día pedí un extra en mi desayuno 2 huevitos revueltos, han sido los más caros que he comido en mi vida, si decides pedir un extra asegúrate preguntar el costo antes, para que ko te lleves sorpresas como nosotros.
