“Great location, but would not stay on the third floor”
+Location of hotel was excellent. Right in the middle of town.
−We were on the third floor. The stairs were very steep and narrow walking up. My husband was able to take one suitcase at a time if it was myself it would’ve been very difficult carrying suitcases up.

+It’s clear that the apartment was beautifully renovated some time ago, especially the bathroom with its bathtub and sauna , definitely a highlight. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the old town and just a few steps away from anything you might need. The owner’s contact person was always kind and helpful whenever we discussed the small issues that came up during our stay. The owner also offered a discount for the troubles we experienced, which is why my rating for the staff reflects this positively. The apartment is easy to reach on foot from the train station, and overall Haarlem is a wonderful place to spend time.
−The location, as amazing as it is, unfortunately comes with some important downsides. The apartment has only a skylight , no actual windows. Normally that could still work, but in the evenings, opening it means getting a full “chef’s special” from the nearby restaurant’s kitchen vents. Every fried dish they make seems to take a quick tour through the apartment, so fresh air in the evening is basically impossible. The shower doesn’t have a proper ventilator, so mold is happily expanding on the ceiling. The toilet room also has no ventilation, which is… not ideal, especially when the skylight must stay closed. Some ceramic tiles on the floor are broken. And from 21:00 to 21:30, the very enthusiastic nearby church rings its bells continuously , apparently following a tradition from the 1600s to announce the city gates closing. Charming historically, less charming when you have a child trying to sleep. The coffee machine, as mentioned by another reviewer, was still not functioning. I returned it to the owner’s representative, but a working replacement never arrived during our stay. A few small cleaning spots were missed, but nothing dramatic.

+The location was fantastic, only a short walk from the station and right in the middle of bars and restaurants.
−Very little not to like, we asked if we could store our bags a couple of hours before check in and they didn’t have provision for this, I think this could have been achievable

−It was very hot. Apparently things aren’t always checked on. Some lights didn’t work. A fan was broken.

+Gute Lage, schönes historisches Gebäude einfacher Check in. Kommunikation per Mail hat gut geklappt.
−Bad nicht sauber, offene Fugen, kaputte Fliesen, kleine Schimmel Flecken, Mülleimer kaputt, insgesamt machte die Ausstattung einen eher günstigen, nicht besonders gepflegten oder neuen Eindruck. Teils staubiges Zimmer, Wandleuchten teils defekt. Abends sehr laut, aber keine Klimaanlage um die Fenster geschlossen zu halten. Unangenehmer Geruch nach Abfluss, Geräusche von Klospuelung aus Nachbarwohnungen unngedaemmt zu hören.

+L'emplacement était vraiment super, on n'entendait pas les voisins, on avait bcp de place, la télé wifi était trop pratique. 😁
−La Vmc étant dans la salle de bain le premier soir on avait super chaud et une odeur d'égout assez terrible Mais quand on a compris ou était la Vmc on a fait un courant d'air avec la fenêtre et les ventilateurs c'était très bien 👍
