“A MUST stay !!!!”
+Everything was so chic and modern in a traditional area. It’s this new wave of Japanese accommodation that is very impressive. It’s a little pricey, but absolutely worth every cent in my opinion.
−Access is a bit of a hassle with large baggage. I was in a ground floor room, and you can hear people walking about n the rooms above you. I was told by staff the age of the building restricts any soundproofing. You will need an intermediate level of Japanese here.

“Contemporary ryokan experience with wonderful hospitality”
+We picked the accommodation for its architecture and took delight in the contemporary design that we feel remains faithful to the traditional Japanese ryokan experience. The staff were really helpful from checking us in to going through the house rules to discussing the breakfast menu. We are appreciative the English translator assistance, especially with our beginner level Japanese. The breakfast was a simply yet filling Western breakfast and we took delight in making our own coffee with the coffee apparatus in the room. The nearby onsen was also complimentary and designated carparking is available. We wish we have more time to experience and appreciate the hospitality and the town. Hopefully we will be able to converse about the architecture and design at our next visit.
−Due to the steep and narrow path to the accommodation, we brought a small overnight bag. There are restaurant choices around but may be time limited, so it's best to check up on their availability
