“Private, Secluded, Wonderful Place to Call Home After a Day of Hiking”
+The property is located in the gorge and close to the end of the road offering more privacy than other properties in the Asahidake Ropeway area. The property has an indoor and outdoor onsen (small, but it works) which pipes water in from the Tenninkyo Gorge hot spring. There is a beautiful waterfall easily accessible by a 15 minute walk. We did this in winter so it took a bit longer but it is a flat-ish walk. Food was lovely in the morning and evening. The ryokan meal was tastefully presented and filled us up enough for our hikes during the day. As with most ryokans, and generally, Japanese hotels, they offered PJs or yukatas to use when on property. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was wonderful. It was not expected, but the staff cleared off our cars the morning of our departure as it was snowing steadily during the day and overnight. Would highly recommend!

“Definitely a better choice of stay if you are around Daisetsuzan”
+The great view from the room. The walk to the Hagoromo waterfall from the hotel is highly recommended. The public baths are good, especially the outdoor with the nice view. Lastly, very friendly staff and the cozy lounge.
−The room is abit small, and slightly pricey

“It was okay - onsen felt tired and old. Room was okay.”
+It's a beautiful location. The staff were very nice.
−The onsen did not feel clean. Also they are doing some major construction - not the hotels fault - at the end of the valley which destroys the peace.

“Perfect ending to a wonderful Hokkaido visit”
+Wonderfully intimate, private stay deep in the Tenninkyo Gorge with the sound of rushing water all around. Beautiful views whether it's rainy or sunny. Easy drive to Asahikawa and Asahidake Ropeway and airport. Private onsen was so relaxing listening to the river rushing by. Meals were unique and plentiful with delicious fresh ingredients. Cherry on top was the lounge with a fantastic music mix and refreshments.
−Room without an onsen was simpler and a little stark.
