“Great value, great hosts, and great stay; Would recommend!”
+First and foremost , Sachiko was a great host!! Very kind and hospitable. I stayed in the private room, and it was very quiet and peaceful, and the tatami bed was comfortable. Showers and toilets were very clean and well stocked Additionally, the property is near a train station so even though it’s not centrally located, it was easy to navigate the city.

“Quiet friendly stay a little bit farther from the sites”
+Sheena and Ippei is a lovely traditional stay in a quiet residential neighborhood. The room was a very traditional tatami mat setup with futon and table for two on the floor. There was a small bathroom down the hall and a shower downstairs. The manager was lovely and very welcoming.
−The room did not have some of the amenities we had experienced in other stays such as toiletries or tea kettles. And although it was fun to stay in a non touristed neighborhood it did take longer to travel to various sites.

“Authentic and in a warm home!”
+Oba-chan is really nice, she asks questions and also lets you have your private space. I also liked that there were different "pop-ups" that were held in the kitchen/ shared space where i would meet different bakers that i would converse quickly with. I liked the space which felt really traditional and separate from the big city but still close.
−Everything was clean but unfortunately some dust could be found on different parts of the place/room.

+Lovely hosts, lovely house and also the location is great. A quiet neighborhood with so much character, interesting shops and architecture. If you want somewhere relaxing and quiet but still fun I would highly recommend.

“Authentic stay in a calm and lovely neighbourhood!”
+We loved our stay at Sheena & Ippei. The Japanese styled room is so charming!! Sachiko san was a great host and provided us very good restaurant recommendations, and greeted us every morning with coffee and sweets. The neighbourhood isn't super close to the typical tourist attractions, but it is super convenient to get everywhere from Ikebukuro, and we loved Shiinamachi's calm atmosphere and got to experience the calm, authentic, non-touristy version of Tokyo, which we wouldn't have experienced otherwise. Another plus is that there are several great sentos within a few minutes of walk!! We got to properly relax our muscles after a long day of exploring the city.

+Sachiko-san is an absolute sweetheart and I wish I had more time to chat with her. She treats you like an old friend and carefully walks you through the check in process. She stayed up for my late check in and greeted me with a smile. The establishment is very cute and cozy, and the rooms are well-kept and clean. If you want a humble yet comfy place to sleep after a day in the city, I cannot recommend this place enough. I'm not sure how you'd do with a large family, but solo travellers and couples would have a great stay. Only about a 5 minute walk from Shiinamachi Station but far enough from the hustle and bustle of its neighbors that makes it a quiet, chill experience. Easy access to Ikebukuro and the Marunouchi and Yamanote lines. Also next to a 7-11 so Yamato Transport is very easy!

“Lovely stay at the start and end of our trip.”
+Lovely small guesthouse/hostel. Excellent location, only a few minutes walk to a Shiinamachi Station metro station, which is one stop from Ikebukuro Station, which then has transport across the city. We started and ended our trip in Tokyo and the owner was incredibly friendly when we first arrived, and even more so when we came back.

“Fijne kamer in een soort hostel gerund door een vriendelijk stel.”
+De eigenaars, erg vriendelijk. De kamer was comfortabel, licht en ruim. Vlakbij een treinstation. Rustige buurt weg uit de drukte.
−Een trap naar beneden voor de gedeelde douche, maar eigenlijk niemand tegengekomen en hoefden niet te wachten op iemand anders. (Wel twee wasbakken en toiletten apart van de douche). Hostelachtig.
