6.0“Too noisy to enjoy despite it’s beauty”
+The property is beautifully decorated as you enter. The rooms themselves look good but the desk was extremely basic and not comfortable for actual work. There is no tea and coffee but if you ask they will bring up a kettle and tea which is nice. The bathroom was the standout feature design wise and the breakfast was delicious. The staff overall were helpful and kind. Location is good too.
−It was very noisy. You could hear street noise and noise from the nearby elevator all night long. I got almost no sleep. I wrote to the hotel to ask if this was a problem of my room 811 but did not receive any reply. I was told this was a quiet room so this was a disappointment and I cancelled future bookings as this was a work trip. It was a shame because otherwise the property would have been perfect for my needs.

10.0“Incredible Hospitality”
+Incredible stay - the staff, especially on the front desk, were exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable during the stay. Highly recommend.
−I have really bad asthma and one room triggered it for me but the team moved me right away without fuss and provided me with an air purifier

9.0“Stunning rooms and ambiance, very helpful staff”
+Lovely stay at Sela V, after a disappointing stay in manhattan we moved here last minute and felt so safe and comfortable in the hotel. Rooms were great and the staff were so helpful and accommodating!
−Can’t be helped, but you do need to get taxis to get around New York

9.0“a place to stay and to come back”
+The bunk bed room was spacious and clean, with high ceilings so it feels even larger. Has storage for every bed, so its very convenient for friends or families, each one with a proper space. I could definitely stay for a week there. The hotel has a beautiful restaurant and bar by night, not noisy, quite hip aparently. They kept our luggage after check out without any problem and they are very kind.
−The hotel has a nice restaurant and you can obviously have breakfast but it has few options and eventhough the food is very nice is super expensive and too complicated food for every-day-breakfast in a long stay. Should offer some other simple menu for hotel clients (besides cookies or bread). The room had just one chair, for a 4 bed room. We literaly sat on the floor to chat not so far from the others in the room. At least another chair or a stool to chat for some time. :)

9.0“Great Staff, good rooms and an excellent base to explore Brooklyn and NYC. Highly recommend”
+Amazing hotel. Architecturally fascinating in its conversion. The staff were brilliant. Friendly and attentive, the bar staff especially. Initially we balked at the cost of breakfast but gave it a try and it was amazing - almost too beautiful to eat and such great variety and portions that it was well worth the price - in fact it was exceedingly good value. My friends loved having a piano you could play and I loved hearing other guests play - especially the one who played the Succession theme one morning... Great mix of clientele as well - fun morning chats when getting coffee with other guests. The coffee was also excellent. The rooms were incredibly clean, amazing water pressure in the shower and the bed was very comfortable.
−I'd forgotten how loud the city is so the first night was a bit of a shock with construction work going on nearby (coupled with jetlag), but not the hotels fault. The design is very masculine, so I was a bit frustrated by not enough space for clothes and the bathroom was very dark so difficult for makeup, putting in contact lenses etc. Initially a bit shocked by there not being any in room items (coffee maker, additional toiletries - usual hotel stuff). I'd not brought a shower cap as there's always one in a room but there wasn't, but reception staff were happy to help and gave me a couple. I knew I would probably bump my shin on the corner of the bed frame! These were my gripes but I was jet lagged...

3.0“Cold, noisy, not as advertised; the hotel should warn guests about such loud noises.”
+A nice restaurant, a nice entrance, friendly staff, a nice dining area
−A view of the harbor?? No way,the window doesn’t open 180 degrees; if you press your head against the glass, you can barely make out the harbor. The air conditioning blows straight onto the bed, set rigidly at 66 degrees Fahrenheit, so you freeze; you can’t turn it off; you won’t fall asleep, the noise is so loud there’s no chance of sleep, unless you have earplugs in. It was supposed to have a coffee maker, but there wasn’t one. You’ll be sweating in this room temperature,it’s like a cold-water challenge. I don’t recommend it,

8.0+Beautiful hotel and the room we booked was big and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
−Probably a 20-25 min walk to the closest subway which was our oversight but in retrospect it would have made our travels easier being closer to a station. There is a bus stop a minute walk away though and that was good.
