“Friendly and quite but location limits dining options”
+Very quite location with comfortable clean rooms. Ideal if you are going to be out all day and want peace and quiet in the evening.
−Out of town so need to factor in extra taxi costs. Dinner menu seemed overpriced for what was offered.

+Nice gardens, Kevin was excellent an asset to the hotel.
−No visual front of house all the time. Someone needs to be in charge and visual at reception all of the time a sole duty. We felt the hotel was not ready for paying customers.

−It was quite unfortunate that the lodge appeared as available on Booking.com, only for me to receive a message after booking saying, unfortunately, they were fully booked for the day. The message came through while I was already on my way to the hotel. Oh well.

+The room was lovely, with the sound of the Black River flowing throughout the night and bush babies calling around us in the evening. We had our meals at the restaurant at the top of the building, and the staff were very happy to accommodate our dietary requirements. After asking one of the staff members, Bella, about trying traditional Tanzanian food,which we had struggled to find elsewhere during our trip,we unexpectedly ended up taking part in an impromptu cooking class! Bella taught us how to make ugali and several traditional Tanzanian stews. Afterwards, we sat down for dinner with Bella, who taught us how to eat the food properly using our hands. It was such a special and unexpected experience, and one of the highlights of our time in Tanzania. The accommodation itself was lovely, but what really made our stay special was Bella and the rest of the staff, who went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing experience. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Tanzania!

“Quiet and clean in the trees”
+Excellent and friendly staff, pleasant and clean rooms, and good food. Our stay here was very nice. The rooms are a nice size and have what you need. The location is a mixed blessing. On the good side, the location a bit away from town surrounded by forest is very quiet and gives the feeling of being in serene wilderness.
−As mentioned, the location is a mixed blessing. Be warned that the location is a bit out of town. It's not really walkable, and taxis/safari operators might complain, charge more, or refuse to drive to the hotel. We didn't have any real problems, but our safari driver (who was a bit cranky anyway) said he 'didn't realise how far our it is, usually they only do pick ups/dropoffs to hotels in the centre area'.

“Estancia fantástica”

“Buona struttura, qualità proporzionata al prezzo”
+Immerso nella foresta e alle falde del monte Meru. Personale gentilissimo. Stanza spaziosa con vista sulla foresta. Efficiente trasporto per l’aeroporto, anche se un po’ caro.
