+Stayed here for 2 nights. Spacious room, comfy bed, and great ricefield view. Staff were very helpful. Overall great value for the price. Highly recommended!

“Lovely garden and tropical Hotel”
+We stayed at Rumah Markisa for 4 nights and can confirm that the accommodation is truly beautiful and idyllic. The surroundings are very peaceful and the rooms are pleasantly spacious. We especially appreciated the easy communication, the shared kitchen, and the free drinking water. The staff on site were always friendly and helpful. Overall, the accommodation is really lovely, but we feel it would benefit from a bit more attention to detail and regular maintenance.
−However, compared to previous reviews, we were a little disappointed with the cleanliness. The floor and terrace could have been cleaned more regularly, and we already had insects in the room upon arrival. After asking for bug spray, we ended up keeping the insects away ourselves. In addition, the rattan chair in the room was broken and unfortunately could not be used.

“Had a lovely stay here! Already planning my next visit”
+Amazing place! Quiet and peaceful away from the main point, but still a short scooter to beach. The rooms are beautiful - Spanish villa style, clean and modern with awesome half-open bathroom and a cute patio area - perfect for morning coffee overlooking the rice paddies. Grounds are lovely, with a few friendly kitties that love to visit for a scratch or two. Breakfast was always great.

“Best place to stay in Batukarad”
+Everything! The location is top, the view from the rooms, the room is big and breakfast is served with love. Toti is a very nice host and always there to help you.

“Great guesthouse in Batukaras.”
+Rumah Markisa was a very welcoming place. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, breakfast served was great, the garden area and terrace was beautiful and peaceful. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. The location also is great, giving peace since it's a little drive from the main surf spot but very close to the reef surf spot and restaurants around.
−We experienced some heavy rains which caused some leaks in the room through the window. The staff were helpful to fix the issue and offer a room change so it didn't affect our stay more than that one day. The only other personal preference would be to have closed bathrooms. The open style invites many mosquitos and bugs in which can be disturbing. In general it didn't affect our stay and we were able to keep the room mostly mosquito free.

“Genoten van de mooie tuin en het relaxte Batukaras”
+De prachtige tuin, lekker ontbijt, dichtbij een lekkere warung. Fijne hulp van Toti. Leuk om op het strand te kijken hoe de visvangst wordt binnengehaald.
−Heeft wel wat klein onderhoud nodig, gordijnen die los hangen, luxaflex die kleiner is dan het raam, een deur die klemde, een handgreep die los zat. Miste wat haakjes om spullen op te hangen in de kamer. Kamer kon ook wel een verfbeurt gebruiken.
