“A nice property/stay somewhat spoilt by not having been prepared properly”
+Location, quaint setting above the Post Office/Tea Rooms and cottage feel. Breakfast provided in the Tea Room.
−We got the impression that the owner (or similar) had not expected us (they said they had forgotten). Although the bedding and towels etc. had been changed there was a mouldy loaf in the cupboard, insufficient cutlery in the tray and out-of-date butter in the fridge! In addition the "Welcome Mat" was anything but welcoming as it was broken and in two-halves (dangerous) and the bathroom blind was broken having fallen from its mounting due to a big hole above the window. These are all quite silly and trivial matters that should have been sorted prior to arrival of any paying guest and detracted from our initial impressions of the property. A great shame as the rest of the property was fine!

+What a unique apartment beside the river, and a wonderful little Tearoom which serves gorgeous breakfast and lunches, the staff are all very welcoming and very accommodating to all our requests. Will definitely be back. 10/10 for all
−I couldn’t say a bad word. They went above and Beyond. It was also so easy to check in, all details were sent for self check in and it was so easy to follow, we were offer the use of the Hot tub for a small fee and it was definitely worth it.

“Perfect countryside escape”
+A perfect countryside escape for our family We had the most relaxing stay at Riverside Cottage as a family, and we couldn’t recommend it more. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The cottage itself is beautifully presented, spacious, and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a kitchen and cozy living area. The setting is so peaceful, nestled beside the river and surrounded by nature. In the evening, we dined at Basil Sheils, just down the road, and the food was outstanding,homemade, hearty, and family-friendly with a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast there the next morning was just as impressive. It’s a brilliant place for families looking to unwind and reconnect. Whether you want to explore or just relax by the river, Riverside Cottage offers the best of both. We’ve already recommended it to friends and will definitely be back again ourselves!
