“Disappointing”
+Rodrigo was excellent. Did everything he could to make us comfortable and welcomed. Great effort with meals. Thank you! Too much for one person to host, cook, clear and sit down with us to chat! Good bed linen and towels. Good outside chairs and little side tables. Adequate lighting inside tent. Enough storage for clothes etc for one person if staying for more than one night.
−There were 3 single beds in what should really be a single bed tent, so quite cramped. The 2 tents were situated looking at the family house, so like camping in someone’s garden. If looking for a home stay with a local family this would be great. The bathroom facilities were inside the house next to the kitchen. No running water in the hand basin. All a bit old and slightly grubby. A 300m walk to get to the bathroom from the tents through long grass, no lighting at night either outside or in the bathroom. Nowhere to hang a towel or clothing in the shower, a hook would be useful. Kitchen not shown to us although this is advertised on Booking.com, nor coffee/ tea making facilities. I was told the swimming pool wasn’t functioning at the moment, there was no swimming pool! No light on when going for our evening meal, asked for candles after which a light was switched on over the table, lots of bugs, suggest moving the table. No rubbish or recycling bins. WiFi available only when switched on so a bit random. It might be useful to mention on your website or Booking.com that there is only solar power, which is not a problem but useful to know. I know Rio Gorongosa is a work in progress and
