“Character building”
+Right in the centre of historic Marrakesh. Nice breakfast
−*Advice* don't share your phone number with reception for a taxi as you could receive unsolicited personal messages long after your holiday especially if you are female. In short, Riad which may have had an authentic feel in the past if you could find it in the labyrinth. (Riad Hidden).I don't think it wants to be found. No show will be charged the same.Pass Cafe de France and the Grand Bazar restaurant on the right. After the Mosque in the Souk, turn right down alley. Number 117 on the left opposite a large pile of rubbish. The photos on Booking.com don't reflect reality. But some authentic charm.Dusty and needing major renovation. There are a lot of steps and 3 levels. Very small stagnant pond. Not a swimming pool and this is misleading. Limescale showers had no hot water The WIFI is ok by the pond but dies in the room. One of our rooms had no proper lock. We were the only guests that week (two female tourists) Zouhair was in charge. Our "airport shuttle" didn't show up on arrival.Might be part of the plan. Not a shuttle in any case. Aircon ok. Generous breakfast of eggs, local bread and pastries cooked and kindly served by Ismail on the terrace each morning.

“Damp Rooms, don’t recommend it”
+The room was a good sized room, however there was a lot of damp on the walls. At first we thought it may be the design of the room, but as the days got on the damp become more and more apparent. I caught a really bad cough whilst I stayed there. Non stop all night I was coughing.
−The rooms were damp, the AC made it worse. The shower stopped working. The room was very smelly. The photos shown on bookings, don’t be fooled by them. The address is incorrect too. So you’re not in the Jama el-Fanaa, but there are side streets which is approx a 5/10 minute walk to the square

“Lovely stay, fantastic value for money!”
+At first glance, the Riad is welcoming. The small pool allowed us to cool off. The staff is helpful, welcoming and very responsive. The room is spacious and the bathroom practical. At night, the calm of the Riad is appreciable.

“Hotel to avoid.”
+Very bad. It is a scam I called the hotel for the exact location because no exact adres is on booking.com and the hotel is not on Google maps or other apps. We walked through the neighborhood and couldn’t find it. We called twice with different phones and the person asked if we booked by booking.com. And then he said they were overbooked and our reservation was canceled. And already refunded what is not true. Then he refused to give the exact location so that we can talk in person. Avoid this hotel. I opened a claim against this hotel. This claim is (not yet) settled by booking.com. They are going to discuss my claim with the property. Update 2 July 2024: The hotel lied when Booking.com asked them for a reaction. The said I cancelled the booking and that's why they refuse to refund. I just ask for a 100% refund and not €25 what booking is proposing. Conclusion. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL

“The perfect stay”
+Riad Escondido was perfect. Despite being in the middle of the Souks, it was very quiet. The rooms were lovely and cool and the staff were amazing, friendly and super helpful.

+For my kind of travel this Riad was perfect, very good location, beautiful and authentic accommodations, and the staff was always there to help me and give me advices.

“Superb”
+Beautiful place, our room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Charming little pool and patio. The terrace was nice and sunny, perfect for relaxation. Our room was comfortable and clean, very quiet and 5 minutes walk from the square.
−There was a confusion about the location as on the map it was showing a different location. The name of the riad is different as shown on booking.com. This riad's name is actually Riad Hidden which caused a little bit of stress trying to find.
