−Subject: Formal Complaint & Full Refund Request - Riad Al Assafir Marrakech - Booking Misrepresentation & Uninhabitable Conditions* To the Manager / Owner of Riad Al Assafir and http://Booking.com Customer Support, I am writing to formally complain about the condition of Riad Al Assafir upon our arrival on 26 September 2026] and to request a full refund. We booked in good faith based on the photos and description on http://Booking.com which showed a clean, finished, luxury riad. What we found was completely different and was not fit for human occupation. We arrived: After a 05:50 flight from Manchester to Marrakech, we arrived at the riad at approximately 11:00am awaiting the 14:00 check-in as room wasn’t ready and the hotel wasn’t ready either. At 13:00 on our request to view the room, we were walking to the room, and enroute what we saw was just an utter disgraceful, neglected state. The condition on arrival: The property was an active building site builders on site with ladders up the walls, builders plastering, peeling paint and repainting while we were present. - Floors covered in plaster dust, peeled paint debris and dry leaves. “A wonderfully peaceful haven and perfect base for exploring Marrakesh.”
+Quiet and peaceful, with delicious breakfasts on the rooftop terrace. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment (family of 5) which was perfect - a wonderful experience of Riad living, especially for the children. Good air conditioning kept the temperature perfect. We also loved how the pool was actually usable (sometimes Marrakesh Riad ‘pools’ are little more than ornamental/cooling features. And of course, the wonderful birds - both the cage of incredibly coloured birds, and the wild birds playing the the vegetation.

+Perfect location in medina. Private parking for riad guests is available in front of entrance (free for guests). Very friendly staff, amazing breakfast. Beautiful internal garden with pool and nice birds. Very calm at night.

+Les personnels sont vraiment l’atout de ce Riad Merci à Omar et à celui qui s’occupait des nuits durant notre séjour Ils ont été super et nous ont bien aidés!!

“Prachtig riad op afstand van Djemaa el Fna, veilig te bereiken voor vrouwen alleen op reis.”
+De ligging is perfect, en dat het riad per taxi bereikbaar is was voor ons de voornaamste reden om te boeken. Als twee dames alleen wil je in de avond niet door donkere steegjes naar je riad. Hier is dat niet nodig, je kunt veilig te voet of per taxi de riad bereiken. Daarnaast is het personeel geweldig. Er wordt meegedacht, er worden oplossingen aangedragen en geen moeite is teveel. Bij problemen wordt er meteen gehandeld en gecompenseerd, keurig!
−Er was een probleem in de kamer, dat is ontzettend goed opgelost en serieus genomen. Wel betekende dat dat we hebben moeten veranderen van kamer, dat geeft extra onrust in de korte 4 dagen dat we daar waren. Dat is jammer

−Le réceptionniste n'a jamais rendu la monnaie de la taxe de séjour Le petit déjeuner très moyen (un oeuf et deux tartines) a été facturé 10€ en espèces pour notre fille venue nous rejoindre. Et surtout la malhonnêteté du personnel. Une paire de boucles d'oreilles en or et diamants a malheureusement été oubliée sur le rebord du lavabo. Malgré nos nombreuses relances, la seule réponse a été (non rien trouvé ou alors c'est les personnes suivantes qui les ont prises). l'erreur vient de nous mais on est en droit d'espérer mieux....
