10.0“Perfect retreat in Marrakech”
+Perfect in every way! A peaceful quiet retreat from Marrakech’s intense souks. Staff is warm and lovely. Each day we received a little surprise in our room ….cookies, oranges, rose petals…. Best shower of the trip!
−Loved it

2.0“Poor customer service,”
+The inside of the property was quite nice.
−Not very good at customer service. Booked me in an excursion and promised a 7.30 breakfast before I left, but nobody turned up to provide breakfast and I had to leave without any for what ended up as I’ve 4 hours travelling (more than twice what I was advised) having to buy chocolate bars at a stop due to lack of breakfast (which was included in the price I paid). Also very slow to answer the door. You are not provided a key, but told you need to knock to gain entry. Sometimes you have to do this 4 or 5 times while stood in a dark alleyway, before someone eventually lets you in. If you are on the ground floor there is often quite a lot of chatter until late at night making sleeping difficult.

8.0“A charming riad with wonderful hospitality.”
+We especially loved the breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The food was fantastic, and the beautiful setting made it a wonderful way to start the day. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, and always made us feel welcome. Their warm hospitality was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
−The location was a little inconvenient, although this is understandable given that it is a traditional riad and cars are not allowed in the area. Carrying our luggage through the cobblestone alleys was somewhat difficult. I would recommend booking a room on the first floor. Our basement room was comfortable, but unfortunately it had very little natural daylight.

2.0“Unreliable Pickup Information Caused Me to Miss My Scheduled Desert Tour”
+The breakfast served on the rooftop was pleasant and comfortable.
−On the morning of October 6th, I was waiting for a 3-day desert tour pickup scheduled for 07:30. Because the riyad is in narrow alleys, I checked with the Riad Adriana staff, and they explicitly told me that the tour driver would come directly to the riyad entrance. Relying entirely on this instruction, I waited inside, but no one arrived. As a result, I completely missed my booked tour and had to urgently arrange an alternative tour on the spot, causing major disruption and inconvenience. The staff's incorrect guidance directly caused this, and their follow-up support was inadequate. Additionally, the room was small for the price, and when I requested laundry service, the returned clothes were not fully dry. Future travelers with morning tours should double-check pickup locations independently.

8.0“This was a good choise, breakfasts were awesome!”
+Highly recommend. The only caution is that we had very early schedules (5am) to catch trains or drivers to events (like the ballon excursion) and unlike North America hotels where you must be able to easily exit for safety / fire, this Riad was completely locked up and we were locked in and could not leave. We found the caretaker eventually who let us out, but it was a bit stressful as we almost missed our ride and the other balloonists were not impressed. Same thing late at night, but we were not out late so that was not a problem. Bottom line is set up clear early exit / late entry times with the Riad and they will accommodate you, but don’t assume you will be easily able to come or go at odd hours unless you communicate your needs, or unless they change the locks in the future to let guests exit / enter without staff help. I don’t know if many Riads are like this, but it is not something I would have expected, and hopefully they never have a fire, as that would be a very bad day for the trapped guests.
