About this place

Built in 1949 to serve early day travelers on US 60, the nation's first coast to coast highway, Reed's retains its relaxed country atmosphere. Many rooms boast beautifully warm, locally milled aged knotty pine walls or log beams from the adjacent Apache National Forest. Some are individually decorated with art by outstanding local artists who are featured in our lobby. Outdoor porch supports are made of large juniper and pine logs, adding more western character. Our grounds feature casual, country landscaping with several lawns, a variety of trees, and colorful flowers in season. Film legend John Wayne, owned 26 Bar Ranch located West of town off highway 260, and often was seen at Reed's playing cards with the local ranchers. Our guests enjoy making themselves at home relaxing by the beautiful lobby fireplace, while enjoying our free light continental breakfast and fresh brewed coffee.

+Front desk folks were super nice. The facility was very old and in need of some upkeep. Looks like it's a work in progress. I would stay again.

+It was clean and quiet. Breakfast was included, but there was no meat. Check in was fast and access to the room was easy. We were on a road trip and appreciated a fast in and out, no hassle experience at a reasonable price. We like the old school privately owned hotels that are well kept like Reed's. Back up to the door and haul your junk straight into the room. No dragging coolers through lobbies and elevators and hallways. After all, we didn't fly half way across the country to waste time looking at hotels, did we?

“Hiking in the White Mountains”
+We were with a hiking group that used Reed’s Lodge as our base. Everyone loved the history and character of this lodge. All the rooms were unique, many with a particular theme. Pleasant place in the lobby to gather and plan each day’s activities. Our room was very spacious with comfortable beds and a nice hot shower. Several good places to eat close by.
