“Not a highlight of our trip..”
+Bed was comfortable. Hosts were friendly.
−Hot and stuffy! When windows were opened, traffic from Hammond Bay road was noisey all night. Of the thirty plus accomodations we have stayed in in Nanaimo in thirteen years, this is the most frugally provisioned kitchen yet. A total of two Horton's coffee pods, salt and pepper. Thats it! The hosts were fanatical about not allowing the bathroom fan to run despite minimal air flow( incredibly stuffy in bedroom and kitchen) and messaged us to turn off the fan. Our last morning, the electrical breaker kicked out in the kitchen ie no hot plate, no hot water kettle, no coffee maker working. Messaged hosts, no reply until several hours later after we checked out. Dish washer out of order, lights in kitchen chandelier partially working, chair in kitchen missing two of five casters. Kitchen stove inopperable. Kitchen table vinyl cover badly worn. Glasses in cupboard had lipstick on rim. Stainless pot needed cleaning of residual food before use. And all this for a mere $280 including all fees and taxes for two nights.

−I hate to say it, but I think someone should explain to Lyodd owner, once renter customer enters, is using the suite, you don't just walk in without knocking or announcing you wish to speak, even though he was living upstairs. What if my wife was naked coming from the shower? And you don't enter the suite when your occupants have left for dinner. We left the kitchen light on to see the door to enter the code and the bathroom fan on because mirrors foggy after shower. Both were off upon our return. I didn't mention or make a fuss because they are really nice, but frankly, I was a little taken aback as I have never experienced that in all my travels which are considerable. It was like it didn't occur to him that is wrong, and he is a lawyer. Good advice for future guests to feel secure and their privacy is respected. Also, signs as to where it is, even a small one on corner would be helpful.

“Clean and comfortable accommodation”
