5.0+Good location for Lagem Pass.
−Dinner is 45 GEL and breakfast 35 GEL. Therefore, while the rooms are cheap, the total cost is the same as other guesthouses but the quality is not the same. The bed was so creaky I woke up multiple times. The food was low quality and not enough - we left dinner and breakfast hungry and some bread was mouldy. They also said the WiFi wasn’t working while the kids were on TikTok.

1.0“Avoid”
−Horrible service. Very rude and disrespectful hostess. Demanded an extra 75 lari per person for meals. Told her that only two of the three of us wanted dinner and she told our other friend that she would have to leave if she didn’t buy the meals. Was given a notice about our booking on booking.com where it said that it was preferred to buy meals there but nothing about having to buy the meals in order to stay. Our friend asked if she could instead buy a drink or a lunch to go for the next day as she already had her dinner and breakfast with her and was laughed at and told to either pay or cancel the booking. We told her we would cancel on booking then she demanded 45 lari canceling fee even though we booked with free cancellation.

8.0“Get there early to make the most of the garden and views!”
+Qaldea Resort was the most stunning spot to spend the night. We arrived late afternoon and enjoyed a cold beer lying on a hammock looking out over the mountains. Showers were piping hot. Breakfast and dinner were fine, and the lunchbox was plentiful to get us over the Lagem Pass the following day. The rooms are small and simple, and we slept very well. This place is all about the location!

1.0“Worst place I’ve been to in Georgia by far, and the most expensive. Luka is a bad person”
+There is a good view of nature, but it’s the same in any other guesthouse, so nothing special.
−Worst guesthouse I’ve stayed in, and the worst hospitality I got from anyone in years. I have booked a single room, and when I got to the guesthouse the bed was full of bugs and flies. When I asked them to clean, they didn’t want to, and told me I could stay in a room that costs 3 times as much, or just cancel the booking and find someplace else. It was in the middle of a hiking trek and there was no time to find someplace else to sleep in. Needless to say that there were no other guests the guesthouse, and they still charged me 3 times than what I booked. The owner’s son Luka was the meanest and most aggressive person I met in Georgia. He didn’t even looked at me when we spoke (he showed me my room since he’s the only one speaking English) and just continued playing poker on his phone. When we asked for laundry, he said they have a machine, but not for us. Dinner and breakfast were really expensive compared to all other places I’ve been to on the trek, and the food was served cold. There was no protein to eat, only bread and bread and bread and potatoes. It is much much better to stay at the Guesthouse Nextdoor, and not to be tempted to come to Qaldea

6.0+Great location, awesome hammocks, nice outdoor seating area, comfy beds.
−After having booked months prior to our stay, we received the following message from the owner three days before our arrival (when we were already hiking in the mountains): “(…) we just want to say that we have very low prices that’s because we host people who would like to have dinner and breakfast at our place, so please take a note❤️if you aren’t planning to have dinner and breakfast please make reservation at another place (…)” The food was good but not enough for the 18 hungry guests. Dinner was 45 GEL, breakfast was 35 GEL and one lunchbox cost 12 GEL, which was considerably more expensive than at other places throughout our journey. Wi-fi was extremely slow or entirely dysfunctional. The walls between rooms had gaps on the top, so we could hear everything on the other side.
