9.0“Pushkarni Homestay”
+Aakashh is an excellent & very helpful communicator. We arrived by bus around midnight &, thankfully, Dilesh (father) came on his motorbike to meet us. We followed him about 750m through very narrow lanes to their place. . His parents run the homestay. They are also lovely. The room is newly fitted out & very comfotable, just above the river with a good view over activities below. We ate dinner there twice & breakfast once. Chetna organises very nice, local food.
−Varanasi itself was soooo busy with Shiva festivities & it was sooo hot, it wasn't pleasant going anywhere. The motorbikes honking impatiently in the narrow lanes, already choked with people, was just horrible. I got smashed by one & ended up with a big bruise on my arm.

7.0“Fascinating Location!”
+Puja, Akesh and his father were incredibly kind and accomodating. The room was too small for us, and so was the bathroom, therefore we did not have a good rest. However, the room was provided with everything: linen, coffee maker, soaps, bottles of water and even television. Unfortunately I did not understand that this room was in the basement, so it was a bit claustrophobic. The closeness to Manikarnika Ghat makes the place absolutely appealing but we couldn't use the terrace because of the many monkeys up there.

8.0“Cosy room facing Ganga River with all amenities”
+Polite & helpful host, comfortable bed, and all the amenities are new. Good view of river Ganga and also quick access to the Manikarnika Ghat. Kashi Vishwanath & Kaal Bhairav Temple are walking distance. Several popular eateries are also walking distance. Room’s a bit cosy, even for one person with one large bag. WiFi was unstable at times, but otherwise worked fine, the router can be placed inside the room to fix that. Place can use some thorough dusting. Also, a bit challenging to locate at first but that goes for most stays near the Ghats.

10.0“Ancient Kashi at its most authentic.”
+Small room but with large super comfortable bed and linen and with a kitchenette and fabulously positioned terrace with stunning views of the river and ancient temples of Manikarnika ghat. This is ancient Kashi at its most authentic complete with the famed burning ghats a mere 50 meters away. The sad part is the encroachment of Modhi's monstrosity of a development that severs Manikarnika from the main ghat . Getting there is a challenge as you have to walk the alleyways for a good 20 minutes from where the taxi drops you. Don't follow Booking.com directions, but pin your location to Mission guest house just a short distance on the same street.

8.0“Great location!”
+Location was fantastic, right near the Manikarnika Ghat. Easy to walk to all the ghats and explore the narrow lanes of Varanasi. The facilities in the room were very good - kettle, tea/coffee, water, toiletries. There is a kitchen just outside the room for warming food or chilling food/drinks. The family was very attentive. I was unwell for a few days and the family brought me some medicines and food without me asking. I felt very well taken care of.
−The room looked like it had not been fully cleaned when I arrived - but this was sorted immediately. Personally, I found the daily room rate a little expensive - for India. Although I was there during a festival/holi day so that may be why.

8.0“Very alright.”
+Clean. Great location. People were friendly.
−All good. They will vocally request a review as they are just starting out, might feel strange.
