“A memorable place to stay. There’s nothing much at Parachilna but the Prairie Hotel is definitely worth a visit.”
+We were warmly welcomed and everything was very impressive. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Our dinner and breakfast was delicious.
−No complaints from us

“Lovely place to stay, just buy your meal there - do not get the package deal of dinner included!”
+Great Place to stay, very comfortable rooms, friendly staff and faciltiies.
−Very Disappointed in the package deal. Paid $240 for a 7 course meal. We received 2 courses to share of miniscule pieces of meat and holumi. Total plates to share should have been each and then they would have been small entrees. 2 bites each of those plates. Then a plate with feral feast to share. 1 small piece of each thing on the plate each. We then had to fill up on a large bowl of beans and pototoes to share. Finally some thing each was a small dessert each. 6 courses in all not 7. Left not even feeling totally full. Would have been better to just buy the meal, would have been $150 max off their menu.

−Staff were a bit haphazard, pleasant and obliging but needed more training Our dinner on day one was outstanding but not so good on day two, salad straight out of the Cole’s bag, chicken a dry…

“Relaxing and enjoyable, with a lovely upstairs sitting area.”
+Location is remote and a welcome stop over. Dinner is exceptional, we enjoyed the feral feast. Breakfast is included and a delicious hot meal with great coffee.
−All good.

“Prairie is an unexpected gem.”
+Prairie is an unexpected gem. For a hotel in the middle of nowhere, the rooms are modern and comfortable, the tasting dinner is not to be missed, the staff is superb, and the location is convenient to the fossils at Nilpena-Ediacara NP and gorges at Ikara-Flinders Ranges NP/Wilpena. If you are visiting the Flinders Ranges, spend an extra night here and see for yourself. Note that fossil tours are available from the hotel or https://www.parks.sa.gov.au/parks/nilpena-ediacara-national-park
−Can't think of anything.
