“Wonderful large cave stay in a lovely location!”
+We chose this location specifically and it was excellent. We were able to access the cave suite easily as it was on the main road so easy to roll in and out. You could use stairs or use the road. We loved the courtyard and we sat out everyday and had a drink or just hung out. We had a large suite with 2 washrooms. We loved the large shower and design of this cave. It was wonderful. Breakfast is continental and the juices were excellent and tea selection but they did not have coffee provided. Pastries were packaged. Lots of selections of coffee shops and restaurants in the Sassi and outside were close by. The host gave us directions for free parking close by and it was fantastic! We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!!

“Pietragialla was a wonderful place to stay in magical Matera!”
+When we booked this property, it looked nice on line. When we arrived we were surprised at HOW nice it was! It was wonderful! So unique and truly a beautiful place. Giacomo was truly a wonderful host! The bathroom shower was unbelievably huge inside the cave! Everything was very nice and modern. I would totally stay here again and would HIGHLY recommend. I think this might be the best lodging of our trip! Thank you Giacomo!

“Great location and view. We saw the units door on Bond movie chase scene (no time to die)”
+location and terrace. close to where we wanted to be. beautiful view with very large entertaining space.
−space was sparse but functional. very basic breakfast and morning drinks. Given not a hotel with breakfast it would be nice to have a coffee machine with pods and larger refrigerator for self provided items

+The location is perfect, you can see the view of the Sassi, so beautiful especially at night. The host is very friendly and helpful. He helped us with our luggages and dropped us off at our parking garage.

“A Gem!”
+Wow!!! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Giacomo, who was so warm and welcoming. That same warmth and hospitality continued throughout our entire stay. My husband and I reserved the room with the private terrace, and the pictures online simply do not do it justice. The terrace is massive, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. We found ourselves just sitting out there taking it all in,the views truly leave you speechless. We also really appreciated the thoughtful touch of the light snacks and juices provided in our room, which were replenished every day. Pietragialla and Giacomo are truly a treat! We loved our stay and would happily return.

“Geweldig om hier te kunnen verblijven!”
+Wij hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad in Pietragialla! Deze bijzondere grotwoning is echt uniek, sfeervol, comfortabel en met ontzettend veel aandacht voor detail ingericht. De combinatie van de authentieke sfeer van de grot en het moderne interieur maakt de accommodatie heel speciaal. De verlichting is prachtig en de badkamer is bijzonder. De locatie is perfect als je Matera en de Sassi wilt ontdekken. Alles is op loopafstand en doordat het gebied grotendeels autovrij is, ervaar je de stad op een heel bijzondere en ontspannen manier. Parkeren kan buiten de stad en vanaf daar is het prima te lopen. Vooral ’s avonds is Matera een absolute aanrader: de sfeer is sprookjesachtig en je waant je even terug in de tijd. Het terras met de overhangende jasmijn en het fenomenale uitzicht maakte ons verblijf helemaal compleet. Wat een heerlijke plek om even tot rust te komen en te genieten van de bijzondere omgeving! De communicatie met de verhuurder, Giacomo verliep snel, prettig en duidelijk. Bedankt Giacomo.
