10.0“Perfect for us!”
+We loved pension agi. Well priced comfortable accommodation in a great location. Walking distance to happo one as well as the restaurants, bars and facilities in echo land. We were just a few doors away from spicy rental where we hired our ski gear, and two equally close options for shuttle buses that could take us to any of the slopes in Hakuba. Our host at pension agi was lovely. He was very informative, offered train station pick up and drop off and gave us advice for navigating the local area. The breakfasts were delicious and hearty. They kept us well sustained for a day on the slopes. Each mornings meal was different with some typical western style food and some Japanese food. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom. I was worried it would be too small but it was fine - we were very comfortable with plenty of room for our ski attire our luggage and us. We enjoyed our 6 night stay at pension agi.
−Everything was better than expected

10.0“Amazing”
+loved the location very central and walking distance to everything in echoland, the owner was very welcoming, and easy to get along with, we were in and out of the room constantly, after a big day on the slopes we would come back to a clean room, which was above expectations. we texted him that we would be arriving early, and he offered to come and pick us up, and then offered to take us back to the station on completion of our stay. would highly reccomend to all friends

10.0“Exceptional cleanliness, thoughtful service, delicious homemade breakfast, and the most genuine hospitality imaginable.”
+Exceptional hospitality , truly unforgettable stay Our stay at Pension AGI was nothing short of exceptional, and easily one of the most welcoming experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. Before we even arrived, the owner reached out to make sure we had transportation from the bus station. This meant so much to us, as we arrived late in Hakuba during peak snow season with heavy snowfall, luggage in hand, and very limited transportation options. That level of care before arrival already set the tone for our stay. The pension itself is immaculately clean, inside and out. It is incredibly well maintained, cozy, and wholesome, instantly making you feel at home. Our room was very clean and spacious, equipped with a heater that kept us warm and comfortable during the snowy winter. We had a private bathroom, which was spotless and well maintained, and we also noticed that the shared bathrooms were equally clean and very well kept. Staying here offered a true Japanese cultural experience , removing shoes inside the house and enjoying the calm, respectful atmosphere. Breakfast is served at 7:30am, and I highly recommend future guests to be punctual, as it is a truly pleasant and memorable

7.0“Value for money lodgings in a more traditional home”
+Pre-arrival communication with our hosts was prompt and most helpful. We also appreciated the free pick up from the train station back to the Pension.
−The rooms were very small and we opted not to use the heater in our room due to the smell of gas which emanated from it. We didn't use the in-house breakfast... we tried, but had difficulty finding staff to assist us (we had a similar experience when checking out and opted to call an Uber to get to the train station).

10.0“Cosy and convenient stay in Hakuba”
+Excellent location to restaurants. The host was very kind - I stored my luggage prior to check in and they carried it up the stairs to my room; He also sent me to the bus stop upon checking out when I couldn't get an Uber. The house was extremely clean and quiet - I barely saw other guests.

8.0“Perfect location for our ski holiday, with staff who go above and beyond.”
+Pension Agi was a great base for us for 5 days of skiing in Hakuba. The staff were very attentive and we were very grateful for them picking us up and dropping us at the train station! We had a triple room with private bathroom which was very comfortable and a good size, and has a nice view across some snow-covered fields. We opted for breakfast one morning which was lovely. We found the location perfect, its very close to the bus stop that takes you to all the ski resorts, which made it so easy. And there are so many great restaurants within 5min walking distance in Echoland. We walked to Happoone once to go to the supermarket (20mins) but otherwise hung out in Echoland.
−It wasn't clear if the lounge and dining room were available for us to use, and they didn't seem to be heated regularly so we tended to stay in our room. This might have been because there weren't many guests.

10.0“Excellent option 2 minutes walk from Hakuba Valley bus and 15 minutes to nearest Happo chair lift.”
+Great place for a great price. And Agi picked me up from the Hakuba Bus Terminal. The room had adequate floor space which can be a problem in Japan sometimes. The heater worked great so I was never cold. The wifi was also great so I got a lot of work done when I wasn't riding. Location is good. You can walk two minutes to the bus stop or 15-20 minutes to the Happo One chair lift. Two minute walk to the closest food and five minutes gets you all kinds of options. Also, a heated board storage room downstairs for storing boards and boots and changing.
−Maybe that the roads are not always plowed so they're slippery but that's the whole Hakuba area and Agi takes good care of snow removal at his property. And the heaters they use in the storage rooms Japan release gas fumes. A different type of heater would be nice.
