“Nice stay with a beautiful view”
+Nice stay with a beautiful view from the room, overlooking the swimming pool and surrounded by nature. Good breakfast and a very nice, welcoming host. A nice bonus was having a shower wall in the bathroom, which is not very common in Sri Lanka.
−Keep in mind that it’s about a 10-minute walk from the main street, along a jungle road with an uneven surface, and it’s completely dark at night. We didn’t mind because we had a scooter, but it’s something to consider if you’re walking.

+Everything. From the moment we entered that magical place we felt like we are in top of the world with all those beautiful scenery around us. Facing the mountain range of Riverston this magical place is a must visit in Matale. Staff was friendly and welcoming and attentive. They met all our needs and really took care of us. Food is so tasty and the chef make sure to change to different menus every single meal. Thank you so much for going the extra mile to make our stay extra special with your kind services.

“Sri Lankan hospitality and nature at its best”
+I loved my stay here! The view of the mountains from the infinity pool is incredible, as is watching monkeys from your balcony, but it’s so much more than that. The people who work here are truly kind and wonderful in a way that I’ll remember for a long time. After only 2 days with Cristo and Ashok, it felt like they were looking after me like they would their own family. Cristo even took me sightseeing around town to the temples and a batik shop. Additionally, my room was spacious and clean, the AC cold, the bed comfortable, and the shower hot. Breakfast was delicious, with sausages made on the property, and I opted to have dinner there both nights, which was a treat. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
−If other guests are loud, it may impact your stay. I did not experience any issues with this personally. Also, as others have noted, the road to the hotel is a bumpy dirt road. Just take a tuktuk!

“Vanuit het zwembad dromen over de vallei, prachtig!!”
+Prachtig oud Brits gebouw waar vroeger de patiënten van de katoenplantage werden verzorgd. Omdat het wat ouder is, is het wat gedateerd maar zeker niet minder charmant. Het uitzicht is uitzonderlijk en het zwembad een mooie bijkomstigheid. Als je de heuvel afloopt zit je meteen in de bewoonde wereld maar dit hotel heeft de rust en natuur wat alles zo bijzonder maakt. Apen, prachtige vogels en de reuzen eekhoorn die gezellig mee ontbijt. De kok maakt eten op maar en staat altijd voor je klaar. Ze hebben voor mij een tuktuk geregeld en daarmee verschillende kruidentuinen bezocht, een batik fabriek, tempel en hout kunstwerken. Erg leuk om zo de lokale bevolking te leren kennen. Het personeel staat voor je klaar om alles voor je te regelen. Erg fijn!!
