3.0“Would have enjoyed if we had the accommodation that we had booked two months earlier.”
+The Praire Hotel outdoor fire heater and outback atmosphere. The bowl of chips.
−We had booked through booking.com on 4th July 2026 and my friend Liz Koch paid $195 for accommodation. When we arrived on 9th September ( 2 months later)they said that booking.com had overbooked and that we had to have a lesser accommodation. This was a real shock as the toilets were outside and the shower was outside in a shared facility. I was sick with a cold and it was not good for my friend trying to sleep with me coughing.

5.0“The recent rains had closed all the gorges so there wasn’t much to do around Parachilna.”
+The meal at Prairie Hotel was lovely. The sunset was beautiful.
−Wasn’t anything to do after dark except go to the pub. A fire pit would have been nice….a quiet drink and chat with other guests.

9.0+I thought the cabin was nice but could have been cleaner.
−Rubbish bins around cabins were overflowing and attracting lots of flies. Flooring in the cabin was quite smelly and the unit was a bit grubby in places

8.0“The Prairie Hotel and its wondeful restaurant is a must west of the Flinders Ranges.”
+Have always been a big fan of the Prairie Hotel and its restaurant. Did not know about the overflow accommodation until the most recent visit. it offers a more affordable option to that in the hotel and is suited to those on a tighter budget. for an overnight or a couple of nights stay this is a great option.

10.0“Great way to recharge after a long day on the motorbike to get there!”
+The room was great, and was way more comfortable than I was expecting for where it is. Comfy bed, great shower, air conditioned and just across the road from the hotel for dinner. The staff at the hotel (where you check in) were friendly too.
−The flies were bad, but that isn't the venue's fault!
