“Comfortable room in an old palazzo set back from Main Street”
+Room was very comfortable - roomy, great bed, strong and hot shower. Breakfast was a lovely spread with more options than we needed! And location was PRIMO, a block or so from the opera house. A tiny elevator helps with your suitcases (phew). The proprietor gave us an excellent tip about a nearby bus to the airport, which was spot on.
−Nothing could have been better given the property. Visitors should be aware this is a floor in an old palazzo, a pensione where the proprietor explains how you enter the building (key), the B&B (different key) and the room (different key). There's no "reception desk." We thought we'd need parking but didn't, so I can't comment on that, but I believe there is parking at the facility.

“Great property close to everything.”
+Everything. Very clean property right in the middle of old town. Our host Giuseppe was wonderful and helped us with parking. Breakfast was wonderful served by a lively staff.
−Driving to the property in the middle of Palermo was difficult. Giuseppe met us and we followed him to the private parking.

“Overall, we loved the homey feel of this hotel and would return to it if we were to visit again.”
+Initially, the main reason for booking this hotel was because it had free on-site parking. In addition to this, we appreciated even more about the hotel. The building/spacious room itself was designed with mid 19th Century features, high ceilings and ceiling medallion, highly detailed ceramic tile flooring, tall windows with balconies in both main room and bathroom. It felt a bit like staying at grandpa's house, the furniture was a mix of vintage and eclectic, yet uncluttered and comfortable. The hotel manager/owner was friendly and spoke enough English for us to communicate. He was quiet and unassuming yet you felt a certain comfort in asking questions as needed. He was the only staff member ever at the main desk and was there from early morning to (at least) late afternoons. The breakfast was delicious and had plenty of food to choose from. The serving staff were very friendly and attentive, bringing out juice to each customer's table and refilling anything on the small buffet table that needed replenishment. I liked that we could put a sign on the door to not clean/disturb unless we requested it from cleaning staff. The parking attendant was friendly and organized. We let him kn
−The only small problem we had was the attachment that holds the handheld shower head was broken when we got there but we were able to rig up a system for it to work by tying it with plastic to hold it in place. Also, I did not see a hotel safe but there was plenty of furniture and drawers to keep personal items out of sight.

“Fabulous stay in the centre of Palermo”
+We stayed 3 nights in room 1 at Palazzo Pantaleo, between the Politeama Theatre & the Massimo Theatre, the location perfect for walking to sights & markets in the centro historico, restaurants & the marina area. It was a lovely spacious room with a balcony, clean & very comfortable with tasteful furnishings. The breakfast was generous with savoury & sweet choices & fresh orange juice. The free valet parking in the courtyard was managed with precision by the cheerful Dario. Mr Giuseppe Pantaleo, the owner, was very responsive & helpful from the time of booking in providing further information, driving directions & a map to the accommodation. He was present each morning to greet guests at breakfast & is quite a character, with a sense of humour & speaks English. A fabulous stay in the centre of Palermo, highly recommended.
