“Very unique, a bit strange, sumptuously furnished palazzo”
+Palazzo Bernardini is unique. We stayed 3 nights and were the only residents. Two men had responsibility for cleaning and mgt. We barely saw them. The proprietess was away unexpectedly. We never saw her, but corresponded. The phenomenal breakfast we expected didn’t happen. We were given vouchers for nearby cafe . We asked the palazzo for coffee. They could not oblige. On the positive, we had full run of the palazzo, which is loaded with hundreds of years of knickknacks. Virtually every bit of wall in every room was covered with artwork.
−I’m sure that had the proprietor been on premise, it would have been a very different experience. As it was, they were not able to meet our one and only request- to have coffee in the residence

“A very poor experience in terms of accommodation and facilities”

−Bathroom was far too small. My wife nor I could hardly fit in the shower and we are both slim.The sink was cracked. The entire bathroom was quite dirty and the shower was black with mould. There was a very bad sewage smell in the bathroom. Both the bedroom and bathroom were outdated and required modernisation and refurbishment to bring them up to an acceptable standard. There was far too much in the room in terms of furniture and magazines. The lighting was poor day and night. Most importantly, there were no smoke detectors or alarms of any kind in the rooms or the communal areas and there was no emergency exit procedure displayed in the rooms or the communal areas. The entire house was filled with hundreds of books and magazines and should a fire have started the property would have been an inferno in minutes. The owner/manager had to leave the country on the second day of our stay and provided us with tokens for a local cafe to get breakfast. At this cafe we could only purchase one cup of coffee and one pastry with the token. Yet we had paid for breakfast each day of our stay! “Stunning accommodation in Lecce”
+This is a beautiful place to stay in the heart of the old town. Location is perfect for exploring. The palazzo is so interesting with stunning decor, furniture and an amazing mosaic floor in our bedroom. Our host was such a lovely lady who was very accommodating and helpful, she was happy to advise and spend time chatting.
−Driving through narrow streets of old town to get to the palazzo was a bit hairy at times but easy enough. We didn’t use the car while staying; if I was planning on using it I would probably have parked outside the old town.

“Isabella is the kindest woman, very helpful and generous. My wife stated that Isabella also makes the best coffee she ev”
+Wonderful place, very comfortable and cozy room. The terrace is beautiful. The breakfasts were fabulously good. We stayed for 6 days and that was an amazing experience. The location is close to the center of Lecce, with many excellent restaurants around.

“Beautiful residence in the old town wth an excellent hostess and guide- looking forward to returning”
+Stunning property in an excellect location with walking distance to the Duomo and all of the bars/restaurants in the old town. Our hostess Isobella provided great recommendations for places to visit/eat etc during our stay. It felt like an oasis. Cant wait to visit again - there is so much to see and do in Lecce.
−Restaurants open late - ususally starting at 7.30 for dinner- just need to plan around that if you dont like eating late (like us)

“Excellent location and host”
+Isabelle was such a gracious host and went out of her way to make us comfortable. The apartment is right in the heart of Lecce old town and everything is at your doorstep. Parking is convenient, right in the property- it is a little tight getting in so you just have to take your time.

“Such a special stay at Palazzo Bernardini!!”
+Staying at Palazzo Bernardini was amazing! Isabelle was a phenomenal host and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment itself was stunning and so was our room - we couldn’t stop taking pictures. Getting everywhere in town was so easy, we felt like it wasn’t a long enough stay here and will definitely be back! Thank you Isabelle for the perfect introduction to Lecce it was so lovely :)

“Wir können von dieser Unterkunft nur abraten!!”
+Zentrale Lage, Parkplatz im Hof, Balkon, ruhig, große, hohe Räume
−1. Kommunikationsprobleme (Schwierigkeiten, überhaupt reinzukommen), 2. statt des gebuchten Frühstücks gab es einen Gutschein für ein sehr einfaches Frühstück (1 Getränk + 1 Croissant) in einem einfachen Cafe´. 3. Der gesamte Palazzo und das Zimmer total verramscht und verwohnt. 4. Ganz schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!!
