“A lovely retreat in Taos”
+Claudia, the host, made all the difference. She was warm, kind, and happy to share information about the property and the sister property. The staff at the sister property, whose facilities were also available, were also very kind and unpretentious.

“Authentic New Mexico boutique hotel”
+The hotel is New Mexico rustic chic. It’s not like a big city five star hotel, but if you want an authentic experience this is the place. Great location. Quiet, yet minutes from the town square and galleries. But you need a car to go to these places due to the narrow roads with no sidewalks.
−No complaints.

“This is an amazing building with wonderful gardens that could be improved with a few small changes”
+The structures are beautiful and the gardens are delightful. Our room was very spacious and pleasant. It was very convenient to have access to a washer and dryer.
−The portable air-conditioning units are too loud to sleep, the fans blew too strong or were too loud. We found it difficult to get the temperature in our room comfortable. The breakfast that was included was not very substantial and the portions felt “rationed“.

“Wonderful property! Rooms were clean. Great location to restaurants and sights. Breakfast was wonderful. Must stay h”
+Convenient location to downtown and restaurants. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Breakfast was very good and the room was beautifully decorated. Staff were very nice.
−I arrived after the staff left. There was a note on the door saying to text the number to get check in instructions. It took about 30 minutes for me to get a response and to finally get into the room after texting many times. The instructions they gave were vague on where the room was. Very frustrating sitting there not knowing if I would ever be able to get into the room or have to find another place to stay. Also, the window air conditioning unit kept falling out and letting hot air into the room making it extremely hot. As soon as I told the staff they had someone come fix it. I would invest in another reliable method of cooling as this was just duct taped up and the duct tape kept coming off too.

+The lobby area was nice and the gardens pretty. Breakfast was interesting because of other guests. The food was average.
−The room was hot and the vented air conditioning did not cool well. The glass door to the room had a sheer curtain and you had to walk in front of the door to get to the bathroom. There was a heavier drape into the room but very impractical.

“Overall, I would not stay here again. The breakfast was continental and OK but not amazing. The facility could use some”
+It is convenient and accessible.
−There was no one available to check us in. When we called the phone number that was listed the other location did not know what we were talking about. It took a minute for us to actually locate somebody to check us in. The room was OK but outdated. They had to add an AC unit that is piped through the window which made the room not so comfortable. It just felt lack Lester for the price of $300 a night.
