“Excellent, tranquil stay in a small village with pool, garden and dog friendly”
+Pet friendly and reasonable fees for the pet. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lovely old house with original features.
−No a problem for us but you had to drive into town about 10 mins as we had a dog but Ubers and taxis available.

−One of the rooms is located next to a street lantern and it is very though to block that light with the curtains.

“Definitely worth the stay.”
+We arrived to Oryza Guest House& Suites around 4pm. Edgar (what an absolute sweetie) greeted us and offered us refreshments while he worked on the check in process. Edgar was very engaging and gave us a tour of the guest hourse, inviting us to use any room and look at the old records of the rice industry. I would absolutely recommend arriving during daylight hours so you can wander through their immense gardens. Seeing all the fresh vegetables and fruits growing, I knew breakfast would be awesome. (It was.) Our room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed and opened to the courtyard. Very thoughtfully wine had been placed in our room so we were able to enjoy the bottle of wine as we sat in the courtyard underneath the grape vines. As we left in the morning, Edgar gave us his business card and said if we ran into any problems during our visit in Portugal to please call him and he would assist in any way possible. While we did not have to take him up on this offer, I'm sure he was completely sincere and would have helped. Definitely a great place to stay.

+Nice charming and special place. A family manor that was renovated into a guest house. We had a big room at the second floor which was quiet and faced the nice courtyard. Although somewhat far from the city center we left our car and used uber which is cheap.
−Note that although this is not a hotel the room will be tide up lightly daily - however there is no change of towels. (We were mistaken and through several towels on the floor thinking to receive clean ones. They were just been put back...) It would be nice if there was a cup or two to place a toothbrush or for drinking water.. also espresso machine and a kettle in the room would be nice (Although there is a common kitchen with tea and a nice freshly homemade cake, fresh fruits from their wonderful organic garden)

+A simpatia do Edgar, a limpeza, quarto bem decorado e confortável, bom pequeno-almoço. Está-se no campo mas a 10 min do centro de Coimbra.

+Struttura storica, noi abbiamo soggiornato nel corpo centrale. Camera molto ampia, pulita e ben ristrutturata. Luminosa, anche il bagno finestrato. Luis, il titolare che ci ha accolti, ci ha brevemente raccontato la storia della struttura e fornito diverse indicazioni sul centro di Coimbra (dove parcheggiare, dove cenare etc). Colazione servita, non a buffet, con prodotti a km zero. Facilità di parcheggio gratuito su strada nelle immediate vicinanze.
−Purtroppo la nostra chiave non era numerata e quando siamo rientrati la sera tardi abbiamo avuto difficoltà a ritrovare la nostra stanza. Avrei preferito il frigo in camera in quanto presente nella cucina a piano terra, ma è davvero un dettaglio poco importante.
