“Suitable for a few nights, but I wouldn’t stay long term”
+Plenty of bathrooms and showers throughout the property, 24/7 reception, staff was nice and helped carry my bags, free meals and events
−Overall the place was dirty, I arrived to my room and the fridge was absolutely disgusting and smelled bad. No room to put my stuff inside. The fridges in the kitchen were also full so I tried not to buy anything refrigerated. The outdoor seating was nice but constantly dirty with cigarettes. Rules were posted but not being followed, people were loud all night long and playing loud music, making it hard to sleep.

“Chill place for travelers”
+Great location in Sydney and an awesome social vibe. The staff reception was super friendly and helpful, and the outdoor courtyard is a great spot to chill and meet other travelers.
−Nothing really, everything was great for the price.

“Good People, Great Memories”
+Some places become special not just because of where they are, but because of how they make you feel. Original Backpackers has a unique charm, with its colourful courtyard, beautiful plants and relaxed atmosphere that brings people together. Located in the heart of Potts Point, it has a character that makes it feel warm and full of life. It’s the kind of place that can turn an ordinary stay in Sydney into a meaningful part of your journey, leaving you with memories that go beyond the place itself. Sunday mornings at Original Backpackers are extra special thanks to their homemade pancakes, served with a variety of delicious toppings. It’s such a lovely little tradition that adds warmth to the hostel and makes starting your day that much sweeter. Sometimes, it’s the simple pleasures that turn an ordinary morning into a beautiful one!
−There wasn’t anything in particular that I disliked. Overall, it’s a charming place with lots of character and thoughtful little touches that make it special.

“Great location and value for money”
+Very friendly and helpful staff, the fact that they hand you your own crockery and cutlery when you arrive keeps the kitchen clean and tidy too. The courtyard was a nice space and the room was comfortable, with curtains for privacy. When I asked for a extra blanket they were also very amenable. Bathrooms were decent with shampoo and soap provided. The location is great too, you can be in the centre in 20 minutes walking and nice neighbourhoods around.
−It was quite loud at times, but the staff did tell people to move or quieten late at night.

“incredibly friendly environment”
+The place was great, incredible location just a few steps from king's cross station. Staff was amazingly friendly and the hostel is full of friendly people coming from all over the world. I would 100% recommend to stay at this place.
−Overall, my stay at Original Backpackers was a great experience. Although the surrounding area can become a bit hectic at night due to the nearby clubs, pubs, and restaurants, I loved going out and seeing how alive the Kings Cross nightlife becomes.
