“Can do much better”
+Location for sunset was magical. The pool was clean and cool. They reception staff would organise transport and it was easy to ride a tuk tuk into town central.
−Clare the property manager dose not respond to messages, I tried contacting her about the airport transfer, with no reply. The original price of the room on booking.com was stated, but my credit card was used for payment 3 weeks before we had arrived at a much higher price point. By the time we arrived at the hotel, checking in was taking so long. We had booked a superior room, so I was looking forward to superior views... we were shocked to find out that the room was a concrete prison, it lacked windows all together making it very claustrophobic. I had paid AUS $243 per night for a room basically without a window. I refused to stay in this room. I spoke to the Receptionist to change rooms, I can see on bookings.com that there were other rooms "Premium Deluxe with Sea Views" available for far cheaper prices than what I had already paid (it also included breakfast, lunch, dinner and a car park). The hotel was'nt even 50% full. They would only negotiate to move us to a premium deluxe room at the back end of the hotel - no sea views, but at least full window access into other rooms... Plus the shower only had cold water and you got to hear the neighbours. The breakfast buffet was dull

+Ora Beach Resort is a nicely designed resort with good taste, located directly by the beach. The rooms are good and comfortable. However, the price is high compared to the quality of service provided.
−Hot water was an issue every day, especially in the morning and evening. We had to call reception daily to send someone to reset the system, which is not acceptable for a resort at this price level. The breakfast is quite poor for the price, much more could be expected. The internet connection is below expectations. We changed rooms twice during our stay and still experienced very poor or sometimes no connection at all. Although the reception staff was friendly, most of the time when we asked for assistance or information, there was no clear answer, and they often did not seem to have the information needed. Overall, the resort has good potential thanks to its design and location, but service, maintenance, and breakfast quality need significant improvement to justify the price.

“Not in keeping with the price”

−The overall experience fell short of what I expected for the price. Amenities and service didn’t match the cost, and the breakfast was just one example of areas needing improvement. Had the price been lower, my expectations would have been met, but at this rate, the hotel really needs to raise its standards.

−Ce n’est pas un vrai resort 4 étoiles. Manque d’équipement, le petit déjeuner n’est pas assez fourni. La porte de la suite ne marchait pas, la suite n’était pas équipée pour un 4 etoiles. Une odeur dans la cuisine de la suite a été présente tout le séjour

−Cher pour la qualité proposée. Nous avons rencontré plusieurs problèmes durant notre séjour : évacuation des toilettes défectueuse, faible pression d’eau, serviettes souvent oubliées par le ménage. Le Wi-Fi ne fonctionne pas dans les chambres et le réseau est inexistant. Le petit-déjeuner est très médiocre . Le plus décevant reste la gestion de notre situation liée à la météo. Suite aux annulations de ferry, nous avons dû prolonger notre séjour malgré une autre réservation déjà payée à Coron. Lorsqu’un ferry s’est finalement libéré en dernière minute, nous avons demandé un geste commercial exceptionnel pour la dernière nuit devenue inutile. Après 8 nuits payées en cash, aucun geste n’a été proposé pour un cas exceptionnel comme le nôtre. Dommage pour un établissement de cette gamme. Expérience globalement décevante, nous ne reviendrions pas dans cet hôtel.
