“A comfortable stay in a convenient location, but unfortunately I didn’t feel particularly welcome.”
+I particularly liked how quiet the room was, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was warm throughout my stay and breakfast was nicely cooked and presented. The location is a definite plus, with convenient bus and tram connections and easy access to the beach and town centre.
−Unfortunately, it was the hospitality rather than the accommodation that let my stay down. I have a strong Glasgow accent and fully appreciate that occasionally someone may need me to repeat myself, but I found communication difficult and at times was left feeling uncomfortable rather than welcome. On arrival I was asked a question, but as I began answering I was told “I don’t understand you” and the person walked away. The welcome also seemed heavily focused on what I should and shouldn’t do, which set an uncomfortable tone for me. I was told breakfast was between 8am and 9am, but then specifically told not to come at 8am and to come at 8.30am. Paying for my stay was also unnecessarily awkward. I had already explained that I did not want the card stored with my booking to be charged and wanted to pay using a different card. When I later tried to settle the £130 bill before going out, there was some confusion over taking the card payment and I initially had to correct the amount I was being asked to pay. “Was only £40 per night, got what I paid for, owners very nice and helpful”
+The bed was very comfy, the staff friendly, hotel was quiet
−The shower was tiny and could not alter the temperature, there were dog toys all over the floor and stains and crumbs on the table cloths in the dining room. Old fashion 'fry up breakfast, most people used to a grilled full english these days including myself

“Lovely”
+Owners were warm and welcoming along with Trevor the dog. Really good full English breakfast along with choice of cereals.
−Unfortunately room and shower were very small but not sure what can be done to make them bigger.
