8.0“Lovely, historic hotel in central Oxford”
+Lovely older building in terrific location. Layout is a bit quirky with many narrow stairwells, low ceilings and door heights. Comfortable room with chairs, a table and a desk plus comfy bed and bathroom with shower. The hotel is filled with lovely paintings from the owner's collection. The main level bar area has a working fireplace providing lovely ambiance especially on a rainy evening. We enjoyed a light dinner in the bar where the salad plates plus an order of bread sufficed. In better weather, the outdoor patio area would be a great spot to sit.
−Overall very pleased. A bit disappointed that on the evening we had hoped to relax in the library, a private dinner had been set up without any notice or warning.

8.0“Great location and Shower”
+Nice updated bathroom and great shower with beautiful large towels. Liked the homemade shortbread cookies, and high quality tea and coffee in the room and magazines. Quality of bedding was good.
−Service was highly uneven ; While some staff such as Claire! were wonderful and super helpful, other staff were not helpful and didn’t clearly explain how to use the safe or close the window shade’s electronically which even they said were a bit complicated, & many people have had issues with. The first night’s staff asked us if we wanted turndown service which includes cookies and water and even though we said yes no one came.even after we called at 9 and they said they were coming. The safe was tiny and not useful- it was too small for an iPad and it was not big enough to put in a normal size laptop for working travelers. Room decor colors feel a little dated given the high room cost.

10.0“Wish we could stay forever!”
+The Old Parsonage is a perfect blend of luxurious comfort and authentic charm. Our rooms had everything we needed and I especially appreciated the shades that keep the rooms dark, the walls that keep them quiet, and the A/C that keeps them cool. Breakfasts are excellent and we loved having a snack or a meal on the lovely terrace. But the thing that really makes this hotel stand out is the staff, especially Andrea :) I don't think we've ever felt so genuinely welcomed and taken care of. A couple of things to be aware of: There are lots of narrow stairs and no elevator (see: authentic charm), though the aforementioned awesome staff is happy to help with luggage. And the location is slightly removed from the center of town. For us, this was a plus since we liked getting away from the bustle, and we loved being near the charming neighborhood of Jericho. And you can always hop on a bus. Speaking of which, there's a bus stop right next to the hotel for the bus to Blenheim Palace, which was super convenient. We ate at the sister restaurants, Gee's and Quod, which were excellent. In Jericho, we liked Branca and Brasserie Blanc. We were also well-located for walks that were longer but well
