+The place is family owned and run. They they are very relaxed and hospitable. Great location mid way between Niseko and Rusutsu.

“Bugs in room, dog poo/pee on ground in hotel, dogs scratching at door at 5 am. Didn't refund.”
+We found little of value with this place.
−We had low expectations going into this stay, since it was one star, but those expectations were not even meant. Hard to know where to start, but we had multiple issues - there are pets there that were no disclosed. I had a dog myself, but the dog(s) left poo/pee inside the lodge. Dog was scratching at room door at 6 am. There were bugs in the room. The wifi didn't work. There are no bath towels. The family that runs the lodge gets up at 5-6 am and makes a ton of noise. It feels like you're basically in their space. We left early to stay at another hotel. They wouldn't refund us, even after calling out all the issues we experienced. I would not ever stay here again, regardless of how cheap this place is relative to others in the area.

+Really enjoyed the location it’s right in the middle of Rutsutsu and niseko so we were able to choose based on conditions. Staff were great, Oka and Mami were both friendly, helpful, and overall wonderful folks.

“Friendly family accommodation, spacious communal room and large bedroom upstairs.”

+This is exactly what ski accommodation should be like. Kitchen, fireplace, ski room, drying room, guitar, piano, common room and great hosts. If you don't need a fancy hotel under the ski slope, this is the place. We would love to come again. Thanks!
−A car is a must. The location is not on public transport.

“While the location and views were excellent, and the beds were comfortable, other aspects of the stay fell short of expe”
+Incredible location (situated perfectly in between Niseko and Rusutsu) and absolutely amazing view at the base of Mt. Yotei, which is extremely useful and convenient if you’re planning on backcountry skiing on yotei early one morning. The bunk beds were very comfortable, good heating units inside rooms, and good bidets/heated seats. Drying room for ski clothes has plenty of hangers and hooks and was heated overnight which is nice.
−Communication with the host was inconsistent. Check-in was surprising with a single live chicken / chicken coop in the common area, raising concerns about cleanliness. The room was severely lacking in furniture, offering only bunk beds and minimal seating. No furniture was provided for luggage or clothing inside the room, and a lack of hooks made organizing belongings difficult. The presence of a small, incessantly barking dog was disruptive. Additionally, the coffee machine was non-functional.
