+One of the best hostels in Australia! Huge shoutout to Alex for the incredibly warm welcome,right from the start, it was clear how well-run, clean, and welcoming Flashpackers is. The daily cleaning of the rooms and bathrooms is top-tier. The entire team goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. It’s super easy to meet fellow travelers thanks to all the daily events and themed dinners (the fresh cheese sauce on nacho night and the cheese & wine evening were highlights!). Great location between two beaches, and the free beginner surfboard hire is a huge bonus. Leaving wasn’t easy, but I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

“Well managed Hostel!”
+From the moment you book the friendly, chilled, welcoming vibe is evident. They have great chilled social events most mornings and nights which encourage everyone to come together in the communal space - there's no pressure you can participate as much as you like or do your own thing while still being in the communal areas. Staff are always around and very approachable and helpful. Also shout out to the hostel dog who was great company when chilling by the pool with a book! The free shuttle bus was very convenient and used every day to get connecting shuttles or to other activities in town. There's a large well equipped kitchen with plenty of storage space for your own food. First time using the Goki app as a room key and found it was great as didn't have to worry about loosing a swipe card! Having free body and surfboard hire was a great option being so close to the beach.

+Die Lage ist nahe zum Strand und 20 min zu Fuß ins Zentrum. Das Bett war ok.
−Mein Britta Wasserfilter, den ich in der Küche bei meinen Sachen gelagert hatte, wurde kaputt gemacht. Weder die Person, die ihn zerstört hat noch das Hostel hat mir angeboten, zumindest die Kosten zu übernehmen. Eine bodenlose Frechheit. Ich hatte den extra von zuhause (Europa) mitgenommen. Nun ist die Karaffe kaputt. Ich kann aber nicht die Karaffe alleine nachkaufen. Ich muss jetzt schauen, dass ich irgendwo in Australien einen neuen Wasserfilter kaufen kann. Weiters habe ich Wäsche im Trockner getrocknet und sie wurde nicht trocken. Ich musste dann einen zweiten Durchgang neu trocknen und nochmal extra 5 Dollar bezahlen, obwohl mir vorher verdichert wurde, dass die Wäsche mit 5 Dollar trocken wird. Für mich waren es dann 10 Dollar, nur fürs Trocknen. Das waschen kostet 6 Dollar. Alles extrem teuer. Generell ist der Preis für die Übernachtung auch sehr hoch. Bei dem hohen Tagespreis sollte es schön mögluch sein, mir zumindest die Kosten für meinen Wasserfilter zu ersetzen. Und das Waschen und Trocknen könnte durchaus billiger sein. Auf den Stangen vom Bett und auf der Ablage war Staub. An der Decke grallte irgendein Vieh. Für den Preis hab ich mir mehr erwartet. Sehr schade.

“Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht”
+Die Aktivitäten am Abend waren nett und das Personal freundlich.
−In der Küche ist sehr wenig Platz für so viele Leute, Zimmer sind schon eher dreckig, habe unter meinem Kissen eine andere Schlafmaske gefunden. Ich bezweifle dass mein Bett davor gemacht wurden, angeblich ist die Maske runter gefallen. (Und unter meinem Kissen gelandet) Das Klo am Zimmer war von Beginn an verstopft und so richtig ernst wurde das nicht genommen, das ganze Zimmer musste dann das Klo vom Nachbarzimmer verwenden, am nächsten Tag hat sich mal jemand darum gekümmert. Matratzen sind sehr alt und durchgelegen, Zimmer recht klein. Preis Leistung schon sehr schlecht. War mit Abstand eins der teuersten aber auch schlechteren Hostels auf meiner Reise.
