“Disappointing experience despite a good room”
+The room was spacious with furniture. I also have great respect for the host’s non-profit work helping people in need. This is a genuinely noble cause and deserves recognition.
−I had to wait 40 minutes before I could enter the room, even though I had already contacted the host twice a few days before and when I arrived to let him know I was here. The room itself was spacious, but unfortunately, it had not been cleaned when I arrived. I had to wait for the host to clean it. However, the floor was very dirty; I could not walk barefoot without my feet becoming grey/black. The check-out experience was also quite unpleasant. There was no goodbye, no thank you or any kind of courtesy. The host simply took the keys from me. The host explained that he had been late because of his non-profit work helping people in need. I completely respect and appreciate this kind of work, and I understand that it can be demanding and time-consuming. However, I have a hard time understanding his behavior: helping people in need requires, in my opinion, a certain amount of empathy and care for human beings in general. It was therefore difficult to understand the contrast between this noble activity and the way I felt treated as a paying guest. If someone is unable to properly manage an accommodation service because of another commitment (however noble that commitment may be), I th
