“First time visiting Newport. Murray House made it so comfortably ideal.”
+Perfect location. Loved relaxing by the pool. Over the moon to be able to bring my pup. Walking distance to beach. Driving distance to shops and restaurants. Girls weekend with my daughter. It was lovely. Beautiful memories.
−Lamps need light bulbs. Got up early to read. Only light was over bed. Wasn’t important enough to bother Owner.

“Convenient, pretty but cramped.”
+Good location in a neighborhood close to the main cultural boulevard in Newport. Appreciated the parking and the late arrival arrangements which worked well.
−Expensive, but that we knew. Tiny cooking facilities. Icebox needed to be defrosted. The walk up two flights of stairs was a bit of a pain.

“Smelly, Damp and Dim”

−Staying there was like being in someone's basement (it was that dim, damp and smelly) and had trinkets and old furnishings throughout. The bed was uncomfortable and the smell was so unpleasant despite the windows being opened and a small air cleaner going non-stop. When we went out for dinner we didn't want to go back. We sat outside for a while the next morning and the weather was great. It was definitely better sitting outside and it wasn't damp and dingy. There was a little basket left for us with some assorted chips and 2 donuts individually wrapped in plastic when we arrived. We thought we were getting a breakfast and later guessed that was it. Breakfast for 3 days. The great reviews that I read before I selected this place do not reflect this place at all. I didn't want others to be misled as well.

“Charming, coz, convenient stay right next to Marble House and other mansions!”
+The place was cozy, charming, and easy to check in/out of throughout our visit. We loved having free parking in an area that is difficult to find parking, right next to all of the mansions. We'd love to go back again!
−Nothing major fell short of our expectations! We had a lovely stay here. The accommodation is a bit dated, but we were into it and this was well advertised as the case.

“We had no real issues and the neighborhood was close to many of the things we wanted to do and it was safe and quiet.”
+Quaint, basically a mini suite. Jacuzzi shower tub combo , bed had a good mattress and pillows. Tiny kitchenette with 2 burner stove and microwave, fridge stocked with some juice and fruit and breakfast sandwiches for the microwave , toaster and coffee maker and tea pot with selection of teas. Sugar packets and creams in fridge with jellies. They had a selection of croissants and muffins as well. Lovely pool area with plenty of serum and hot tub. Reserved off street parking spot and private yard area with nice plants and flowers.
−A bit dated, but clean and the host was available to accommodate any needs. My wife felt it would be nice to have a smaller selection of croissants and muffins but if possible deliver some each day so they stayed more fresh, just constructive criticism.

“dont stay here if you desire a B&B experience”
+The continental breakfast was horrible and unsafe. 2 donuts and 2 muffins were left on Sunday for a 2 night stay and never replenished. The instant oatmeal containers had an expiration date of 2024, the breakfast bars expired in 2023, and the individual fruit containers in the frig expired in 2023. Totally unsafe to consume! The location was great, close to most things but this should be a room only, not a B&B
