10.0“An unforgettable traditional Japanese experience - exceeded all our expectations!”
+We were genuinely surprised by how wonderful our stay at Murataya was. This place exceeded all our expectations and turned out to be one of the most memorable accommodations of our entire trip to Japan! Murataya is a charming traditional Japanese inn, and the experience begins even before stepping inside. Surrounded by more modern buildings, its beautiful traditional exterior immediately makes you feel as though you’re stepping back in time. Inside, everything is beautifully maintained and managed with incredible care and attention to detail. The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and helpful. We arrived before check-in time, and they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at the property. When we returned later, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our bags had already been taken to our room! Such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel welcome from the very beginning. The staff also personally showed us around the property, explaining everything we needed to know. Later in the evening, they even brought us hot water so we could prepare and enjoy a delicious cup of tea in our room. Another lovely touch! Our room was beautifully traditional, with tatami flooring and futo

10.0+The location is one of the top things about this place - it's super well located, near everything you may need, especially the Kanazawa Park & Castle. The staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate all our needs during our stay. Now, the place itself: AMAZING!! We loved it, it was super clean, it had everything we needed, the matresses on the floor were very comfortable and we had daily cleaning.
−There wasn't something we didn't like.

8.0“Murataya Ryokan is a special place and I would recommend it especially for younger people.”
+The entire building was very clean. The flower arrangements put together by Mrs. Murata added so much to the beauty and atmosphere of the place. Incense burned in the evening was a nice touch. The entire family went out of its way to take care of us, including keeping luggage before we checked in and calling a taxi for us when we had to leave. Also, the younger Mr. Murata marking on a map the ryokan and other places we wanted to see was such a help. The ryokan is very near some of the main historic places in Kanazawa, especially the Kenrokuen, a place I had studied about many years ago and had hoped to see before I died. The Japanese breakfast we paid for Mrs. Murata to make for us was very, very good. And the dishes she selected for each item added so much to the meal. Being able to take a bath with my son was very nice, in the Japanese bathroom.
−The irregular and steep steps inside, with no hand rails, and the separate toilets far from my room, were difficult for me, an older man, to handle.

9.0“Perfetto”
