“Moorgarth Guest House”
+We went to a concert at the Barbican. The location was excellent with only a 5 minute walk to the venue. We were greeted enthusiastically by the owner who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were given a room on the top floor. The room was a large room with a double and single bed and there were amenities including a kettle and hairdryer. I thought it was breakfast included in the cost as assumed as it was a guest house it would be however, there was a note saying that it was unavailable due to circumstances - this was my fault as I believed it was included in the cost. Great cafe 2 minutes walk away called Sonny's who did a great breakfast. Recommended by the owner. Parking available at the front of the property with free parking in the streets behind which is handy should we return to York. Lots of bars restaurants closed by with lots of choices. Safe area to walk at night with a good vibe. Overall. The guest house was suitable for a short stay with great hosts.
−When we arrived the room was extremely cold with no information on the heating. When we came back in after the concert the room was still cold. It was too late to call anyone. As only there for one night, we could have called the owner as he was very accommodating but it was late when we got back. The kettle worked but we had to hold the button as it kept switching itself off. The shower, although it was lovely and hot, we had to hold the shower hose to keep it over us as it just faced the wall and didn't stay in place.

“Lovely stay in a great city”
+Just so friendly, nothing a problem ( even though I arrived very late, tired I locked my keys in the room, these folks just want your stay to be perfect, super comfortable, home feeling

“Breakfast not available 6”
+The room was clean. The bed very soft with a feather duvet. Plenty of tea & coffee with more available if required.
−Breakfast is currently not available despite it being advertised on Booking.com at an extra cost. I only booked 2 days in advance and received confirmation, which included the information that breakfast could be ordered on arrival. I would not have booked had I known at the time that breakfast was not available. This is ongoing.

+Lovely little BnB, the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and really kind. It was clear they cared about the place and our experience staying, and it was easy to get in touch if we needed anything. The location was ideal as it was only a 15 minute walk to the centre as well :)

“Loved this place!”
+Loved this place. Absolutely perfect for my one night stay - clean, warm and comfortable, and my room was spacious and had everything I needed. My host Heidi was lovely and welcoming, despite my very late check in, and the place was very well located, just 10mins or so walk from the city centre, and with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes etc in the immediate locale. I also appreciated the choice of blankets in the room (I get overheated sleeping under a duvet so that was ideal for me), the very comfy mattress and pillow, and the extra electric heater! Will definitely be coming back.
