“Amazing rooms with cozy views, outdoor wooden tubs, and comfy beds. Pass on the in-house food.”
+We loved our room and the facilities in general. Our room was really nice, it felt spacious with the extra tatami living area, and the outdoor tub was the cherry on top. We had a lovely view of the hills over the trees and it felt very relaxing. While we could hear some of the other guests at times, it didnt really take away from our experience. The main hotel area was also comfortable and had nice amenities like a coffee/tea machine and a nice deck area with seating. We used 2 of the different private onsens while we were here - we both have tattoos so the pubic ones were off limits. They were peaceful, private and the water was very hot. Everything felt clean and well maintained. We were also worried it would be hard to get into a private onsen since they are first come first serve but it was no problem at all. We were lucky enough to have one available each time we went down to use one. All of the staff was kind and courteous. They were able to answer our questions, and assist with anything we needed. The staff is the dining hall was also wonderful - even if the food was not.
−The food was rough. I understand what they were trying to do - nice Kaiseki style meals with small fancy dishes - but the problem is they're operating at such a large scale that the food quality was bad. Soggy veggies, dry fish, soggy fish, and we were constantly picking bones out of cuts of fish that either shouldn't have bones or they should be cooked enough to be soft and edible. I understand the traditional style of the food may turn off some folks, but that was truly not the problem for us, the problem was that the food was poorly prepared/served. It was beautiful, and again, I get what theyre going for - but it really really missed the mark for us.

“Onsen was nice but not worth the nearly $1000 price tag”
+Staff were generally lovely and respectful. The private onsen on the balcony was nice. The beds are super comfortable and the room was a decent size. I didn’t understand the point of the table with chairs in the room since we weren’t dining in the room! It could have been better with a seating area. Given the location of the hotel (tucked away in a forested area), the shuttle service to the station was helpful. Without it, I don’t think I would have stayed here. It is all uphill from the station. FYI while we didn’t use it, there is a 7-11 at the end of the winding street leading to hotel. We did the half board and while we enjoyed the experience of a traditional kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast, not sure Japanese breakfast was for us! Be ready for a lot of fish in the morning. Loved that we went to dinner in our provided PJs and slippers.
−For the amount of money we paid for the night (close to $1000), we would have expected a lot more from this property and the room. While it was very traditional, the rooms were SUPER tired and looked like they came out of the 70s. The property felt a bit tired and for this kind of money we would have expected a little more of a luxurious experience. The toilet being by the door and the rest of the bathroom being on the other side of room was a bit awkward. When we checked in we had to choose our dining time and the type of meal we wanted…we arrived early for check in and even then we were told that hot pot dinner was sold out. Not sure why they don’t just ask us our preference at the time of reservation.??

“Very comfortable unique experience.”
+Lovely experience of Japanese breakfast and dinner. Menu’s were provided in English as well as Japanese. Spacious comfortable room with private hot tub. You can open the doors out onto the balcony and not have to have the air-conditioner on which was a great bonus for us. The hot tub on the balcony was great and we also made use of the private onsen onsite. The location is good and easy to get to places from. The shuttle bus service is also fantastic. Very enjoyable.
−It is expensive for what you get but it was a great way to end our trip. You need to request additional tea and coffee pods for your room. Some further instructions in English such as a map and bus stop locations etc would have been helpful but it was not really a major issue.

+第一次入住日本溫泉旅館一泊二食，整體相當舒服，選擇了房內有溫泉的房型，除此之外也有兩個公共溫泉（內有桑拿）、三種私人溫泉風呂可以使用，公共的營業時間也滿長的，完全可以從早到晚泡到飽，非常讚。食物部分，晚餐可以選擇火鍋或燒烤，因為住兩晚，都有吃到，個人覺得都相當美味，但甜點比較吃不懂（同行長輩比較喜歡燒烤~）；早餐是日式早餐，雖然沒有類型選擇，但兩天的菜色還是有所不同，覺得早起泡湯後的早餐特別好吃！白飯很香，味噌湯也好好喝，房內提供的手磨咖啡豆喝起來也很香。整體是相當的舒服，飯店人員也基本都會講英文，溝通都滿順利~推推，下次還來！
−安排到的房間樓層比較低，浴室站靠近外側一點可以看到停車場的汽車，稍有隱私疑慮

+館内は清潔で、食事は美味しかったです。湯上がりの牛乳や、夜鳴きそばなどうれしい無料のサービスがありました。
−夕飯の時間とメニューはチェックインの先着順だったので、予約できたらいいのにと思いました。また、朝食は7時半から、駅までの送迎は9時以降と朝から活動するにはもう30分ずつ早いといいですね。
