“Lovely house”
−2 different housekeepers knocked on the door to which I told them I wasn’t checking out until 1 then someone at reception rang and asked if I wanted a late check out as it had gone 11 and I was still in the room. It would’ve been nice if the member of staff had made a note about my late check out so other people were aware 🙃

“Lovely stay and we will be back”
+Perfect location, staff were fantastic. Very comfy bed.
−The only negative was that there was a big group convention staying when we were there. Breakfast in the morning was very chaotic. Couldn’t get seated, noise level was through the roof and everyone standing around the food stations talking. But the staff kept up with refilling the fantastic food.

“Nice overnight stay in pleasant surroundings”
+Staff were welcoming. Our room was in a separate building but was quiet and backed onto the gardens. We had food in the bar and the bar lady was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful and varied - something for everyone. Wished we could have explored a bit more but we were on a bit of a deadline but no complaints here.
−Nothing - only wish we could have used the pool etc while we were there. Next time!

+Lovely building with lots of character. The room was large. Location good and large gardens. Loved the library room. Staff were helpful.
−The bar area and breakfast room was quite cold.

“Nice and cozy”
+The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really good, although it was pretty much the same every day: fried and scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns. Bread, yoghurt and coffee are also served. All facilities are also beautiful, including the gardens.
−The shower drain was partially clogged, so turning it on at maximum flow made water overflow from the shower box. I bought a toothbrush at the reception, but when I brushed a bit hard all the brush hairs started falling.. very weird. Maybe they should get better ones. Hotel was also isolated and after 8 or 9 pm, you need to walk 25 minutes in the dark from the nearest bus stop, if taking public transportation. A car is recommended.

“Pleasant but generally needs an overhaul and updating.”
+Location was lovely, luckily we were in the Manor House and not the block! Although the room was in the Manor House it really needed a refresh, outdated and. Walk was beautiful and main reception and bar restaurant are was nice.
−Rooms need updated and refreshing. Wasn’t very clean. Swimming changing room and facilities need a refresh and also updating. Could do with better showers, dryers and a water machine by the saunas/steam room. Food was ok not great but evening meal in restaurant was nice. Can’t comment on breakfast as I didn’t have breakfast at the property.

“Good dog friendly option for a one-night stay”
+Perfect dog friendly stop for us on a journey from London up to Yorkshire. They’d left a dog bed/bowl/treat/poo bag which are always welcome! Comfy bed and very clean bathroom. A lovely garden that was perfect for a morning leg stretch before a long car journey, and a good breakfast
−The room was relatively small and in a side wing of the building that looked and felt a bit like a hospital. This was absolutely fine for us for one night
