+I was planning to stay for 4 nights but then extended for 3 more because of the good vibe and location. The owner is friendly, taking care of the place upgrading and redesigning it and always asking to contact him personally in case of any problem. The location is perfect: not too high up Upper Tapovan but a bit away from the noise and crowds. The room and the attached bathroom were clean enough and communal spaces inside and outside on the rooftop were nice to enjoy on your own or listen to some live jamming with the owner participating himself. Each bed had a curtain, a small lamp and a fan which I enjoyed. There were lockable lockers as well placed outside of the rooms.
−The trash bins weren't cleaned as often as they could have been even though they were full and we placed one of them outside, and the toiletries in the bathroom weren't refilled too during the whole week that I stayed there although we almost ran out of them. Other than that cleanliness for me was enough.

+Amazing property. Excellent location. Clean and neat. The guy who runs the hostel was warm and friendly.
−The rooftop was a bit untidy and unclean.

−First the positive. The owner was at some point very helpful and the workers are exceptionally sweet. The check in process is pathetic. It took 40 minutes with a wanna be smart system. Never anywhere in the world hotels have this process where the guest has to fill in, his own details online on his own phone. About the room: There was nothing clean about it. Toilet had poo stains, carpets and floor has not been cleaned in a long time. Hairs everywhere. Bedsheets where dirty, luckily the owner understood and gave me a new sheet, so I could sleep. Most funny thing, they would spray chemicals in the room to try to poison the guest. For 3000 rupees to get a dump like this is defenetly a bad experience. Not even a reduction of the price was offered. If it would have been offered, we would see that we are respected as guests and I would not have written any review in hope the owner improves. But as it is just about a fast money charge, here a honest review. And the owner even agreed on all the point written above after I showed him through the room.

“Perfectly located with a great vibe and rooftop, ideal if you’re okay with slightly small rooms.”
+Perfect location in Rishikesh. The staff is very happy and helpful. There’s a useful water cooler on the second floor, and the rooftop area is amazing, you can chill there anytime. It’s a great stay for singles, friends, or couples in Tapovan.
−The rooms are small, which might be a downside for some. Also the narrow lane outside the hostel can get a bit crowded and chaotic sometimes, because of cars passing and congestion.

+Ashish was very nice and helped us in what we needed. He even let us stay one more night free of charge because our flights got cancelled.
−The room was not comfortable: dark, no tables or any places to put our things on, and more uncomfortable facilities (or lack of facilities). The room and the bed were not clean: hairs and stains in the bed sheets, they didn't smell clean (even the ones they said were from the laundry) and the blanket smelled musty. We even found some underwear in the bathroom...! The other guests were too loud day and night and we could hear everything from our room, even the streets, no it's not really quiet.
