+Nice room. Good location.
−Had a few drinks in the bar but didn't think the locals or staff particularly friendly. I know they don't have to be but we wouldn't have gone to the other pub.

“Lovely old pub - a long wait for food service”
+Lovely old pub in a pretty village Very convenient for walking the Leeds-Liverpool canal
−Room quite small We ate in the pub - the food was good but the first night we waited well over an hour for it without explanation or apology. One of the male staff was rather brusque

“Enjoyable and relaxing with a very warm welcome”
+The whole experience from arrival to departing was faultless. The cleanliness and atmosphere was great, but the staff and management were excellent, nothing was too much trouble although we had nothing to question, they were available and offered help information and a very warm welcome every time we interacted with them. As the saying goes, a business is only as good as its workforce, and this workforce were fantastic. The bar / food order and serving staff were generally young people, and it was pleasing to experience that they all worked as a team, assisting and supporting each other right through the time they were working, and work they did. They were all a credit to the Masons Arms and themselves. We had our dachshund with us and she was made just as welcome as we were.

+Loved the location, the super friendly staff and the homely comfortable room. We felt completely at home. The outside lighting was great taking the dog out for a wee late evening. The beds were comfortable with lovely bedding. So warm and cosy. We ate in the pub and the food was fantastic. Thank you so much for a fabulous night away. Can't wait to come back. We will bring the campervan... but book one of your rooms as we loved it so much.
−Nothing we didn't like.
