“A terrific experience”
+A terrific small family enterprise. The room was clean, spacious and the bed comfortable. I initially booked and stayed 2 nights then booked a further 5 nights. The restaurant downstairs I visited many times and the meals were prepared quick and were very inexpensive and tasty. I also rented a scooter from Marbun and this was a painless exercise. I was invited to join the family to watch a local football match which was an enjoyable occasion. I thoroughly recommend Marbun for the budget traveller looking for a homestay style experience that is value for money. I would definitely stay here again if back on Samosir Island.

“Great!”
+Thanks to Boon and family for the great stay. Great facilities and location. I hired a scooter here and got my washing done here - both for good prices. The restaurant downstairs opens early so is good for brekkie. I extended my stay by several days!

“Mr Bun, the manager is very friendly and helpful! I felt very comfortable talking with him.”
+The room is spacious and clean with large balcony.
−The room is just next to the main road where vehicles noise is very annoying!

+Room was spacious, good. What I had booked was a room with a lake view and air conditioning. Turned out that none of the rooms had these features. Bun is very helpful, for whatever you need!
−Was advertised that room had a lakeview, which it did not (none of the rooms do). Instead, rooms face the main road, which is busy and noisy at any time of the day or night.

+The room was large and clean and the staff was super nice. He was learning Spanish so I could talk a bit with him. The restaurant was also pretty good.
