9.0+Serene, well catered cottage. Perfect for our visit to family and many local attractions. The farm house and cottages are idyllic, rural surrounds. Our host was wonderful and the gardens full of surprises. Completely recommend as a welcoming base.

7.0“Care and consideration is needed to ensure that the gardens of the Cottages are better maintained”
+Bewley Cottage is a one bedroom accommodation easily found as you enter the grounds of Egerton Manor Farm. Tim, the owner is a very pleasant gentleman. Bewley cottage is set alongside other cottages and is situated at the end of the drive near to the Reception sign. It has a very good sized lounge with a large TV on the wall, 2 x two seater sofas, table and 4 chairs as well as a wood burner. The kitchen is well equipped and houses a dishwasher and washing machine which were both extremely clean and worked very efficiently. We did not use the microwave or oven. (The oven tray was very rusty and is in definite need of replacement). We ended up buying our own washing line as the one in the garden looked very grubby. No pegs, so remember to bring your own; we bought some whilst here. The large sized bed is extremely comfortable and the pillows and linen are of a very good quality and very clean. The shower (over bath) is a manual mixer shower so the hot and cold taps need to be manually adjusted to get it to flow at a suitable / comfortable temperature. Good hot water and flow. There are radiators with thermostatic valves (except in the bathroom) in all rooms but the boiler was not tur
−Our biggest disappointment was the poor state of our private garden. We arrived to big weeds as well as little ones, dead flowers and "a very, very dried up dead toad" on our patio area. We dug out / cleared away numerous weeds as well as the dead toad but the large concrete trough full of dead flowers, as well as another plant stand, along with a disgusting green algae covered bench and chair (which were not fit to sit on) were not inviting at all. There are 2 other rattan type chairs and a small table in the garden. We chose the cottage at Egerton Manor Farm because of the garden (the photos looked good on Booking.com) as we like to eat breakfast on the patio and sit outside with our evening meal and a glass of wine. We rarely went outside as it was not a pleasant environment. We just used to shut the curtains so we did not have to look out on it! We got asked to dispose of our rubbish in the bins which were situated through our back gate. These were accessed via a garden of a neighbouring cottage on site. That garden was also an absolute eyesore, with a pile of unsightly plants pots and others that contained dried up dead plants. A long garden hose had been left lying on the gro

8.0“Beautiful peaceful location, with a charming, helpful host!!”
+Beautiful peaceful location, with a charming host who offered advice on the area and also assisted us practically too. He also specifically called us to make sure we knew that it was 'room only' (no breakfast). We knew this as its clearly spelled out in the property description already, but it was good of him to call and doublecheck. He also informed us of a wonderful farm shop 1.5miles away that did a great breakfast!!
−There was nothing we didn't like. But by way of offering practical feedback, given breakfast isn't an option, a mini fridge/coolbox would be helpful for storing milk/yogurt etc in the room.
